What a great week last week for LadiesFirst! We started off discussing all things networking with Emma at Feldon Dunsmore Solicitors. Talk about office envy! Their tranquil countryside office space is a dream. Next, we caught up with one of our Headline sponsors, Alsters Kelley Solicitors Limited. Looking for a speaker who will not charge you silly money (or in my case no money at all !) and who has great testimonials? My main talk is called “Life’s Good, it’s the disease that’s the problem.” It's about my husband who had motor neurone disease (like the late rugby players Doddie Weir and Rob Burrows, and footballers Marcus Stewart and Stephen Darby). It can be as long as 40 minutes (which goes into full detail) or be as short as 15/20 minutes. Instead of charging you, you can either buy some of my books for your attendees, or I will bring copies to sell on the day. Either way 100% of book sale proceeds go to 3 charities  (Marie Curie and Myton hospices and MND Association). I will travel anywhere in the UK. I’ve spoken to groups of men, groups of women, mixed audiences, large groups (biggest so far was 400) and small ones (minimum is 10 people).  In the last 6 months I've spoken at Houses of Parliament, Mayor of Solihull Annual Charity Ball, Probus meetings, company networking days, health education days and am booked to speak at the annual conference of Royal College of Occupational Therapists this autumn. Last week the IXL Events Centre had the pleasure of hosting and sponsoring The Ladiesfirst Professional Development. It was a fantastic evening celebrating Warwickshire finest who had come together to celebrate the Ladies First Business & Inspirational awards ceremony. Excellently organised by Karen Massey and @Tracey Mctamney It was great catching up with Arti Halai a businesswoman/public speaker, 20 years after I catered for her wedding and making new business connections including the inspiring Tara Robinson. I was also delighted that a dear friend and entrepreneur Richard G. was awarded the Businessman of the Year. A huge congratulations to all the winners and finalists for all their hard work, passion and commitment. A big shout out to Trish Adudu for her inspiring speech which touched everyone in the room. WOW….what an experience at a recent event a Marco Pierre White Restaurants Meriden Steakhouse, Bar & Grill to celebrate the launch of its new charcoal oven and grill. We took a break out from awards planning and got treated to the most delicious lunch. We wouldnt hesitate to go back. The decor, staff, entertainment and especially the food was excellent.
