Job Alert Barge Skipper Required - Humber Range 60m LOA Barge with Dry Cargo / Aggregates etc. You may recall last year we started our venture to give our clients the opportunity to have their bulk and breakbulk parcels delivered further inland. Its been a long journey, but we have made some good progress and we are excited that #Route1 will officially open on 10th August 2024 and the connection between #Kingsferrywharf and Ama (storage And Distribution) Limited will be established with regular weekly sailings. We also have some very exciting opportunities to follow in the next few months and we are on the right course for #Route2 and #Route3 to be active before the end of 2024. In the meantime.. we are seeking an experienced Barge Skipper to join the team to navigage the MV MMS Offroader, a 60m LOA barge with loads of upto 500mt on Route 1 (KFW - AMA) and to Route 2 and 3 once they are officially opened. The maximum length of vessel we can birth is 100mtr with a maximum dead weight of 4,500t. Available for material handling, haulage and storage. Having been in existence for almost 2000 years, #Kingsferry Wharf (AKA Burton Upon Stather Port) was used by the Romans to handle part of their Grain run, and in 1342 it was given a Royal Charter stating Burton upon Stather as a major inland port. As years went by the port was used for many different commodities until the late 90s when the port remained active, but didnt have any commercial #waterbound traffic. In #2023 #MCLGroup made #history by making a long term commitment to revive the waterbound traffic, and following extensive investment, a lot of hard work & a lot of preparation, in April this year the port welcomed the first #commercial #cargo #ship to discharge a cargo of #Minerals in Big Bags... which is going to be the first of many... #exciting times ahead. #MCLGroup operate the port as a professional organisation with a personal approach. #Flexibility #Reliability #Professionalism #Passion are all the elements that are collectively going to make this port one of the UK main inland facilities once again.... #watch #this #space for more exciting news.
