Harnessing the power of our people. At Kier, we're breaking down the barriers of the recruitment process - it's about creating an environment that's accessible to every candidate. That means developing a new careers site, introducing enhanced accessibility features and being open to feedback on where we can do better. 💡 Hear more from Paul below.

Attracting brilliant people to work at one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services companies

Recruitment isn’t just about filling positions; it’s about building an inclusive and accessible experience for candidates.  At Kier Group, our commitment to inclusivity is woven through all of our recruitment processes, people, and systems. Here’s a few ways that we’ve put that commitment into practice: 👉 We’ve developed a new careers website, designed with a candidate-first mindset with eArcu. It puts people at its heart and reduces potential barriers, significantly increasing our successful application rate. 👉 We’ve incorporated a leading accessibility tool UserWay.org into our site, allowing users to customise the experience to their preferences. It’s been used over 60,000 times in the past 12 months - that’s a big impact. 👉 We know that we can always improve. That’s why we regularly survey successful and unsuccessful candidates to capture their experiences and learn from them. There’s more to do and still progress to make, but these are a few of the ways that we’ve been able to develop an award winning experience for candidates, recently recognised at the Onrec recruitment awards. See what other steps we’ve been taking on our website below.  #inclusion #constructionrevolution

We’re on a journey to make our workplace a space for everyone 👇 As we reach the halfway point of National Inclusion Week, it’s important to reflect on how we’re continuing to make Kier a company that is welcoming and safe, and allows everyone to bring their best self to work. 🤝 Our Expect Respect campaign instills our 5 respect basics and helps establish a clear guide book on how everyone at Kier should be treated. 📲Our Peppy app offers real and tangible health and wellbeing support to all our employees, providing personalised help whoever and wherever our they are. ⌚Our Smart Working approach lets people work in a way that suits them. Whether it’s flexible hours, part-time working or working remotely, we offer agile working arrangements wherever possible. 🫂 Our Employee networks act as a voice for people to share their experiences and highlight areas for change. We know that we’ve got progress to make, but we know that together, we’re heading in the right direction. If you'd like to find out, more have a look at the link in the comments 👇

As we mark #NationalInclusionWeek, it’s a reminder that inclusion is a year-round commitment, not a box-ticking exercise. It’s an ongoing conversation that drives lasting change. While progress has been made in creating a more diverse and inclusive industry, there’s still more to do. Inclusion means ensuring everyone has a voice, where diverse perspectives are valued, and where the right support is in place for everyone to feel they belong. Times have changed, and we’re proud of how far we’ve come. But we’re not done. Inclusion isn’t just the right thing - it’s a business imperative. It’s the foundation of the culture we’re building at Kier, where everyone belongs, contributes and thrives. A truly inclusive environment drives performance by attracting and developing the best talent, empowering them to excel in a supportive environment. We’re making progress, but there’s more work ahead. #builtbybrilliantpeople #joinkier

How do you build the future? A question we’ve been attempting to answer today at the Building the Future Conference 2024, convened by Building Magazine. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking on the future of Net Zero, alongside some of the greatest minds in the industry. With some excellent keynote’s during the event, from Eoghan O'Lionaird and Mark Robinson we’ve been tackling critical industry issues like sustainability, building safety, and productivity — all key areas for shaping construction over the next 5, 10 and 100 years. I’m very proud that Kier Group has been shortlisted in four categories for the 2024 Building Awards: - CEO of the Year for Andrew Davies - Best Employer - Digital Excellence Award for the Digital Twin Project at HMP Five Wells - Project of the Year for Marylebone Square Looking forward to celebrating with everyone nominated at the awards in November. #NetZero #Construction #BuildingTheFuture #Sustainability #BuildingAwards #Leadership #Innovation
