    ☁️ 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞: 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 & 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 Congrats Tom Dunford & Jack Rogers on another great breakfast roundtable for Leaders in the Cloud & Engineering space 👏 The conversation focused on navigating the cloud in 2024, particularly a topic that continues to come up a lot —managing teams in asynchronous and hybrid environments. While flexible working is great for attracting and widening your talent pool, it does make it harder for managers to spot early signs of burnout. We spent a lot of time discussing how to keep teams connected and engaged remotely. 121s are key - make sure you're creating space to listen and have real conversations, not just feedback sessions. Also organising ‘face time’ around what things that people genuinely enjoy will help with team buy-in, like cricket afternoons, wine and cheese evenings, or online gaming sessions. It’s a conversation we’ve been having for the last 5 years, especially as companies are still figuring out what works best. Take Amazon’s recent shift back to four days in the office and the backlash —it’s clear there’s no perfect solution for building a strong team culture and sense of synergy in remote or hybrid settings. It was really insightful to hear how different teams across various industries and stages, are tackling these challenges. While we report our salary brackets by funding rounds (a primary differentiator) it's essential to consider the following for an accurate benchmark: 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: ⭐️ Level of funding achieved by the business ⭐️ Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) ⭐️ Profitability ⭐️ Total compensation package (including LTIPs, allowances, bonuses, shares) ⭐️ Size and maturity of the tech team ⭐️ Reporting structure and depth of management ⭐️ Specific candidate requirements (e.g., building new tech hubs, leading funding rounds, entering new markets) It's also key to look at the funding. How do we do this? 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝/𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝: Smaller organisational remit, fewer senior leaders reporting into. Potential involvement in navigating funding rounds. 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐀/𝐁: Organisational remit for 60-80 headcount across Technology. Inclusion in the board, dealing with investor stakeholders. 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐂 : Strong ARR with an organisational remit for 100 headcount across Technology & Data. Established, multi-level management reporting structures.
