As the first partner of the Amos Bursary in the West Midlands, JLR is committed to helping young people from African and Caribbean heritage achieve their career goals. In the last year, we have donated £60,000 to the charity and provided mentorship for career development.    Last month, we hosted 30 Amos Bursary charity scholars, offering them valuable insights into the diverse opportunities available at JLR.    The students’ enthusiasm during their visit was inspiring, and their feedback encourages us to keep strengthening our outreach. We’ll continue working with our teams and employee-led networks to support and develop the next generation of talent.    Giving back to our communities and offering equitable opportunities to all is integral to our success. By empowering young talent, and letting them know what’s possible, we are shaping a stronger future for everyone.      #BlackHistoryMonth

Last week’s Global DE&I Summit truly left its mark. Dame Kelly Holmes OBE reminded us, "The colour of your soul is more important than the colour of your skin," whilst Amar Latif OBE inspired us to embrace positivity and make the most of life’s challenges. The keynote speeches and fireside chats have sparked powerful conversations across our business. Huge thanks to our colleagues, partners and suppliers for standing with us as we continue our journey to become an equitable, change-driven company.

Looking after the health and wellbeing of our people and the communities in which we operate is essential for us. That includes the young people who will become the leaders of tomorrow. In the UK, almost one third of children aged between 5 and 10 have less than one portion of vegetables per day. Yet it is recommended they eat 5 portions in order to be healthy, learn effectively, and to help reduce the risk of critical diseases, such as hypertension or type 2 diabetes. Through the ProVeg UK School Plates programme, JLR is supporting the provision of nutritionally balanced meals in primary and secondary schools, with the aim of benefitting 500,000 children. By providing tasty plant-based options in canteens and promoting good eating habits, we can help the next generation get the nourishment they need to succeed. #EngageforGood

Factory of the Future. For over 61 years, Halewood has been the beating heart of vehicle manufacturing in the Northwest. Last week, we hosted our second DE&I Summit, bringing together over 6,000 colleagues across the globe. This was another powerful and important milestone in our ongoing commitment to fostering a truly inclusive workplace. We recognise that true DE&I is embedded in culture and our daily experiences, which is why it remains a core part of our #Reimagine strategy. As well as fostering a more diverse workforce, we aim to also create a lasting impact by incorporating inclusion into our systems. The concept of privilege was at the heart of this year’s discussion, with Dame Kelly Holmes OBE and Amar Latif OBE encouraging colleagues to break down barriers and reimagine what’s possible in any given situation.    We continue to focus on helping colleagues understand our purpose and DE&I principles, whilst adapting our systems and policies to support flexibility, comfort, and wellbeing. Since our 2023 summit, we’ve adopted several key initiatives to support this vision: ◾ DE&I Smart Book: We distributed over 1,500 pocket-sized guides across all manufacturing sites.  ◾ JLR App: Allowing manufacturing colleagues to manage work more efficiently and stay connected on the go.  ◾ Enhanced Parental Policies: Including 52 weeks of full-paid maternity leave, adoption, surrogacy leave, and improved paternity and pregnancy loss policies. ◾ Menopause Support: Offering flexible working hours, additional breaks, and workplace accommodations.  ◾ Inclusive Workwear: Invested £3M in workwear options that reflect the diverse cultural backgrounds and accommodate the physical needs of our colleagues.    By ensuring equal opportunities, visibility, and voice, we are creating an environment where every colleague has the chance to thrive. #WeAreJLR #DiversityEquityandInclusion    Lisa Fritz, Will King, Jessica (Brown) Guerrero, Antara Shah

Over the weekend, over 500 people from our UK sites descended upon the stunning Elan Valley in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales for this year’s JLR Challenge 2.0.    81 teams spent the weekend going head-to-head in an 11-hour race against the clock, filled with exhilarating tasks. They collected ‘points’ by completing a multitude of outdoor activities. It wasn’t a challenge for the faint-hearted!    JLR Challenge 2.0 is an annual fundraising event with our purpose - ‘Live the Exceptional with Soul' at its core. Last year, the event raised over £110,000 (including JLR-matched funding) for local and national charities. This year, with donations still coming in, our teams have raised a phenomenal £133,124 for 61 charities.    Tenika Reid (MCIM), Change Communications Manager at JLR who headed up the communications and engagement for the Challenge said: “Come rain or shine, it was smiles all round this weekend. Sustainability and impact were at the core of the Challenge. This was a free event for our people to come together and collaborate, on behalf of a charity close to their hearts. The weekend showcased the very best of our purpose in action. The teams took on the Challenge against the elements showing sheer determination to reach the summit for a variety of good causes. The atmosphere was euphoric and uplifting, our people exemplified what it means to live the exceptional with soul.”    JLR Challenge 2.0 epitomises the Engage for Good pillar of our #sustainability strategy, which focuses on taking care of the communities and environments in which we operate and making a positive, lasting impact on the world.    A huge thank you to everyone involved in the success of this year’s event, including volunteers, marshals and those who made it an event to remember for many years to come.    #JLR #JLRChallenge #Unity #Impact #CSR

Today, 500 JLR colleagues  will be split across 85 teams  and heading for the Cambrian Mountains in Wales to take part in JLR’s annual fundraiser – the JLR Challenge 2.0.    They’ll be going head-to-head in an 11-hour race against the clock, filled with exhilarating tasks, all to raise money for good causes. In 2023, JLR raised over £50,000 through the challenge, with this year’s teams determined to break the record.    Meet two teams who are taking part and raising money for charities close to their hearts. The ‘Singhs Team’, made up of Devinder Singh Sudan, Arminder Pahal, Jitinder Singh J., Arjan Singh Pahal, Damanjit Singh and Anoop Singh, are part of JLR’s Sikh employee-led network, and are raising money for Midland Langar Seva Society (MLSS) – a charity which provides 150,000 hot meals each month alongside various other global projects.    Anoop said: “MLSS operates on a Sikh- based ethos, where they help and support all people regardless of social status. Being Sikhs ourselves, we see it as our mission to create a world with no barriers. That’s why we’re doing the JLR Challenge 2.0 - to raise money to help MLSS achieve this.”    And for team 'Virtually Challenged’ captain, Chris Takel, who served in the Royal Tank Regiment for 13 years, will guide his colleagues Ishpal, George, Robert, Satish and Adaikala through the challenge for a cause close to his heart.     Chris said: “We’re doing the JLR Challenge 2.0 for the charity Scotty's Little Soldiers. Nikki, the founder, set up the charity after her husband, Lee, died whilst on operations in Afghanistan. Lee served in the regiment and whilst I never met him, I had the honour to serve with those that had. The charity means a lot to me, it has been there to support the families of friends that I have served with, and I have seen first-hand how it helps grieving families find peace after such tragic losses.”      Good luck to all our colleagues, volunteers and marshals taking part.    #JLR #JLRChallenge #Unity #Impact #CSR

Yesterday, we hosted our second global DE&I Summit at our Gaydon facility, a date which aptly aligned with International Equal Pay Day, providing us with a great opportunity to reflect on our ongoing efforts to achieve equity across our workforce.     At JLR, equal pay encompasses more than compensation; it's about ensuring that all contributions are recognised and valued, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or ethnic background. Hosting our summit on this day reinforces how central these principles are to propel our #Reimagine strategy for our business transformation.      Laura Mills, Reporting & Insights Senior Manager and Ex-Chairperson of our Gender Equality employee-led Network reflects on her experience, sharing; “I’ve been at JLR for exactly 13 years, just as we launched the Evoque in 2011, and I remember feeling what a game-changing vehicle that was within the first few weeks of receiving customer orders. I had been in the Global Sales Operation Team most of the time as a senior officer occupying various roles. However, since 2019, I moved up the ladder twice, I have seen changes in recruitment, retention and promotion practices, which means that diverse talent pools and more inclusive practices are better understood. I certainly see more senior female promotions happening now than in my first five to ten years in the company. Age also seems like less of a factor in progression than it once was.”    Over the past five years, we have made encouraging progress on our journey. Some milestone statistics include:  - Hourly pay for women has increased by 7.5%  - Women in the highest-paid roles has increased by 4.8%  - Women receive equal bonus pay to men with a 0% pay gap in 2024    The collective actions of our colleagues, Trade Unions and employee-led networks have been pivotal to help shape our inclusive culture. In addition, our ongoing DE&I training, and internal policies continue to foster a supportive environment for all colleagues.  We are proud of our progress, and with this year’s summit theme, ‘Inclusion for all: Take Action, Make Impact,’ we are encouraged to strengthen our focus to achieving equal representation across our business.       #JLR #internationalequalpayday #DEI #diversity #equity #inclusion

Over at our EV build and test facility in Lyons Park, Coventry… a unique colleague is helping our engineers to save time, whilst also enhancing their safety at work. Meet Rover, our four-legged robotic dog! Built by Boston Dynamics, this remarkable quadruped robot plays a critical role in keeping our facility running smoothly, constantly patrolling and monitoring machinery and valves. This helps to free up our engineers’ time, so they can focus on insightful maintenance predictions or perform repairs. And our good boy Rover is just the beginning—we’re now sniffing out future opportunities for robotic quadrupeds across our global operations. This includes at our Solihull plant where preparations are underway for the launch of Range Rover Electric, as well as  Jaguar, which is set to begin an exciting new era as a pure-electric vehicle. #Innovation #Electrification #Robotics #JLR #RangeRoverElectric #Reimagine #BostonDynamics #RoverTheRobodog #Jaguar

#WorldEVDay spotlights the innovative ways the automotive industry is supporting the shift to a decarbonised society.    At JLR, we are proud to share a huge milestone in our #electrification journey – we recently built our 50,000th battery pack at our Battery Assembly Centre!    Battery assembly is a highly intricate and meticulous skill; each one of the batteries built is done so with the highest standards of quality, safety and care.    Transitioning to an all-electric future is integral within our #Reimagine strategy, and landmark moments such as this are a testament to the engineering excellence and innovation shown by our teams.    Congratulations to our BAC colleagues on this achievement; you are true pioneers and are integral to our future. #JLR #DriveChange #Sustainability
