"InterManager calls for action on accident reporting. There is a significant lag between accident occurrences onboard ships, their investigation, and the casualties report being uploaded into the Global Integrated Shipping Information System (GISIS), shipmanagement association InterManager has warned. InterManager has submitted its latest accident statistics, which span several decades, to the 10th session of the IMO’s Sub-Committee on Implementation of IMO Instruments, taking place in London later this month. The clean energy sector is projected to invest $65bn in US offshore wind projects by 2030, which will support 56,000 jobs, according to a new report by the American Clean Power Association (ACP). We would all like to wish ITIC's General Manager, Robert Hodge, the best of luck as he embarks on the 24 Peak challenge this weekend! Robert will be attempting to walk 24 peaks over two days, which is a total of 33 miles and a 13,000 ft ascent. Robert is raising money for The Seafarers’ Charity. This vital charity works closely with a number of delivery partners that support seafarers and their families, targeting donations where they will make the biggest difference. Every day, seafarers are exposed to the hazards of a life at sea: dangerous physical labour, harsh weather, antisocial hours, no guarantee of a stable income, and months of being away from their families. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, seafarers have been struggling through extreme working and living conditions without many of the basic rights we enjoy.
