Had an inspiring session at our second WomenWise<rise> event in Birmingham yesterday in conjunction with Aston University! Pioneering female referee in men's top flight football Janie Frampton OBE DL and Jo Andrews, Professor of Communication and Management, led a session on effective leadership during times of change. Carol Moseley MBA, Deputy Chief Transformation Officer at The West Brom did an excellent job of diving further into the topics with the panel after, too. Some takeaways - 💡 Don't be a Queen Bee or Ladder Kicker. Inspire and support others to follow your journey (and beyond). This was also explored recently in a SheCanCode webinar. 💡 Be confident. If your confidence gets knocked, your cheerleaders will help you to re-build it. Dame Inga Beale also emphasised the importance of cheerleaders at one of our InX summits. 💡 Call out injustices, whether privately or openly. It will accelerate change. 💡 Adapt your communication style for the moment and for the stakeholders involved. EQ and empathy is key. 💡 Internal communication is just as important, if not more, than external comms, particularly during times of crisis. 💡 Share your failures just as much as your successes... this is authentic. 💡 Believe your sponsors when they believe in you. WomenWise<rise> is just one of the many initiatives that helps up to connect, inspire and inform leaders in tech, digital, data and transformation.
