It’s always rewarding to hear comments from the audience concerning the quality of our insights when we talk on stage. This weeks The Drum Live saw us bring together an expert panel of practitioners in Personalization and in the short time we had available, we were able to cover a number of aspects under the guidance of our moderator Maria Greaves. From AI opportunities, what customers expect, the pitfalls and the challenges, where privacy and consent can be double-edged swords. We covered lots of ground but there is still so much to discuss. It you want to continue the conversation, do get in touch with Intent HQ | AI Company of the Year, or come and see Jonathan Woolf and Ali Malek, PhD present ‘The Art and Science of Personalization in the Era of AI’ at AntiCon on October 17th in London.

Helping marketing leaders navigate the complexity and speed of change in digital.

I took the opportunity and time out to attend The Drum Live this week. Customer experience, hyper personalisation, food and drink marketing and Paddy Power stood out 👇 ‘Deep dive for 2025: what’s next for CX?’ where Cameron Clarke quizzed Jamie Brighton from Adobe. It remains startling that brands are still lagging so far behind the rising expectations of customers with only 26% of customers believing the experiences to be excellent. Your customer experience will differentiate you and create significant competitive advantage when you focus on the right attributes. Be customer centric, go beyond your category and look to exceed expectations. 'You talking to me? Welcome to the dawn of hyper-personalisation' where Maria Greaves hosted Jonathan Woolf at Intent HQ | AI Company of the Year, Eddie Short at Intelligent Enterprise Partners LLP, Ali Malek, PhD at OMD EMEA and Alexandra Foster at Fujitsu. The key takeout here is that the future is here and that with AI technology there are no longer any excuses for brands to not be building towards a hyper personalised future.  The cases and results that some of the panel shared were outstanding. Some considerations were to focus on relevance and providing value (don't be creepy), to ensure ethical practices and demonstrate transparency and to use the data beyond communications to drive product and service development. 'Savouring Success: The secrets of compelling food and drink marketing' hosted by Richard Draycott with guests Tom Rainsford at Beavertown Brewery, Louise Pilkington at Domino's and Andrew Walker at Kantar. Food and drink is a highly competitive market so gaining attention and staying relevant is a tough challenge. It’s fast paced and navigating between trends and fads is a tricky. Of course, customer insight is crucial to success however so is an innovation mindset, an agile approach, trusting your instinct and being tenacious in making it happen when you know it feels right. 'Award Winning Stories' where Lynn Lester interviewed Jack Wilson from Paddy Power. I’d not seen the ‘The Big 180’ campaign however thought it was brilliant. A £1m donation based on the number of 180’s made however more importantly huge campaign driving awareness amongst a wide male audience with huge engagement that is likely to save many lives. Find out more here https://lnkd.in/eQGZhcJR Finally a quick shout out to The Drum who took an innovative approach to the formats for some of the sessions. An Have I Got News For You inspired session, debate format and humorous idents certainly kept my attention than many other events that I have attended.

  • Customer preferences in the restaurant and food delivery space are constantly evolving. Brands must not only attract new customers but also maintain a strong presence to stay ahead in a highly competitive market. In Spain, McDonald's leads the way with 71% penetration among selected brands, outpacing BURGER KING® EMEA & APAC and Glovo who follow closely. Meanwhile, Telepizza and Just Eat Takeaway.com are in a tight race with similar penetration levels, and GOIKO captures a smaller portion of the market.
