Shared Rural Network - behind the scenes with Cornerstone 🌲It was my privilege to be on site in both Carmarthenshire County Council and Powys County Council last week with Council Leaders filming the benefits of the work Cornerstone has done to bring connectivity where it wouldn't otherwise have reached. Sustainability and speed of delivery were in focus, through techniques like fast-drying cement and pre-fabricated tower structures. 📱RICHARD WALTERS supported us as an exemplary Digital Champion for Carmarthenshire where we achieved a 12 week build, bringing Vodafone, Virgin Media O2 and ready for Three UK in his area. Digital connectivity via mobile is bringing essential council, online and health services to this area where fibre rollout just isn't available, and I'm sure will see a great uptake. Thanks to Dija Oliver and Amy James for securing Council Leader Darren Price who shared his vision of our partnership. 🌲An even quicker build in 3 weeks was performed on a higher elevation site over in Powys where Gareth Jones shared views, joined by our site provider Bill, his wife and their beautiful sheep dogs. With another exemplary collaboration bringing this site on air, Richard, Darren, Gareth and Bill showed us how residents in Powys and Carmenthenshire are already feeling the benefits of 4g connectivity, having had prior efforts for fibre fail for economic reasons to deliver residential internet. In their view, our sites in these locations offer a 'beacon' for connecting people, with a clear path to 5g and further uses for these long-term structures welcomed by residents and businesses. 📱Cornerstone believe that technology and nature can and must co-exist, and we are proud to have been supported by Generator Power for renewable HVO energy, STARLINK for transmission, and the awesome team at Clarke Telecom led by Richard Appleyard, Duane Breslan for the acquisition, design and construction. The INS Group are digitising our estate with SiteSee, giving interactive 360 panoramas, digital twin capabilities, and ICNIRP visualization, and I'm looking forwards to showcasing the drone footage and captures in September to the telecoms industry at #ConnectedBritain.
