Celebrating Team Spirit at the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge 🌟🏃♂️🏆 Last week, the INEOS Energy team proudly participated in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge, an event that encompasses work, wellness, and bonding among colleagues. It was a fantastic opportunity to socialise outside the workplace while promoting a healthy lifestyle. A special thank you to our Grenadier team for graciously allowing one of our team to join them on the 4th of July as they couldn’t compete on 3rd July. This gesture exemplifies the spirit of teamwork and inclusion that the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge champions every year. Events like these not only strengthen our bonds as colleagues but also reflect the values we uphold at INEOS Energy. It was inspiring to see everyone come together from across the INEOS business for such a meaningful event. Looking forward to more moments of teamwork and success ahead! 💪🌍 #ineosenergy #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #ineosgrenadier #BUILTFORMORE

🚢🌍 Exciting News! 🌍🚢 Last year INEOS and the partners behind the Project Greensand Demonstration Pilot demonstrated as a Worlds First that CO2 can be transported across borders to be stored safely and efficiently in the Nini West reservoir to mitigate climate change. Since transportation will form a crucial part of establishing the full value chain of carbon capture and storage in the future, Project Greensand has in connection with the demonstration phase investigated requirements for future dedicated CO2 carriers. We are thrilled to announce that DNV - Maritime has granted Approval in Principle (AiP) for the LCO2 Carrier storage tanks, marking a significant milestone in INEOS's journey towards developing a 12,500 m³ LCO2 Carrier concept for the Greensand project. This innovative carrier is designed to efficiently transport CO2 in the medium pressure range from an onshore hub to an offshore location, where it will be directly injected at high pressure into depleted oil and gas reservoirs. A special shout-out to the talented ship designers at KNUD E. HANSEN, who have developed the CO2 storage tank as a C-type tank. By utilizing a new steel grade, they've managed to reduce the overall wall thickness of the tank, cutting down manufacturing costs and significantly lowering the CO2 footprint. This is a huge step forward in our commitment to sustainable and efficient CO2 transportation and storage solutions. #Sustainability #CO2Transport #Innovation #EnergyTransition #INEOS #KNUDEHANSEN #GreensandProject

Today, the Danish Energy Agency has awarded INEOS and its partners, Wintershall Dea and Nordsøfonden, an exploration license for onshore CO2 storage in the Gassum formation in Jutland, Denmark. Wintershall Dea will act as the operator for the license. The Danish subsurface has significant potential for CO2 storage. According to analysis by the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), there is capacity to store between 12 and 22 billion tonnes of CO2 in the Danish subsurface, equivalent to 400 to 700 times Denmark's annual CO2 emissions. GEUS has identified significant potential for safe CO2 storage within the Gassum license. The partners in the Gassum license will now start the exploration process towards potential permanent storage of Danish and European CO2 in the Gassum formation. Experience gained from the INEOS-led Project Greensand and its pilot phase will be utilized in this endeavour, with investigations conducted closely with national and local authorities in Denmark. David Bucknall, CEO of INEOS Energy, stated, "Establishing offshore and onshore sites for permanent storage of CO₂ will be crucial for the EU to meet its climate goals and support a robust carbon capture and storage market. The Gassum onshore license aligns perfectly with INEOS Energy's strategy: delivering energy during the green transition and being a frontrunner in carbon capture and storage." Mads Gade, Head of INEOS Energy DK, added: “INEOS has been a frontrunner in demonstrating safe and efficient storage in the pilot phase of Project Greensand last year, and we have the ambition to establish the first CO₂ storage within the EU in Greensand by 2025/26. The potential for safe storage in Gassum is high, but we now need to conduct the necessary studies utilizing the important learnings from Greensand to demonstrate safe and efficient storage in Gassum as well. This will of course happen in close collaboration with both national and local authorities."

On Tuesday, May 14th Danish Offshore held its Annual Meeting with the Danish Minister for Climate, Energy and the Utilities, Danish politicians and a broad range of representatives from the Danish Offshore Industry as participants.   Mads Gade, Commercial Director in INEOS Energy and Head of INEOS Energy Denmark gave a presentation on the activities of INEOS in Denmark both within oil and gas production and within Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and was a panellist in several panel discussions.   His key messages were:   - INEOS is committed to the green energy transition and we will play a vital role in it. - As part of this transition, there will be a need for oil and gas for many years to come. - The Danish oil and gas production is a significant and important contribution to the European energy supply which is currently heavily reliant on imported energy with a higher carbon footprint - Europe needs a stable energy supply in Europe and become independent from Russian gas - this is driven by the war in Ukraine - Based on the successful pilot in Project Greensand, where CO2 as a Worlds First was transported across borders to be stored safely in the Nini reservoir to mitigate climate change, INEOS is progressing Greensand according to plans - The ambition for Greensand is to be the first CO2 storage in operation within the EU starting end of 2025/start of 2026 subject to FID and that the necessary authority approvals are in place
