#AI in #ClinicalTrials from IMAGE ANALYSIS GROUP: Imagine a future where doctors can predict how well a #cancer therapy will work for you before you even start treatment. That's the promise of #ENLIGHT-DeepPT, a groundbreaking new AI framework, ref: https://lnkd.in/esbe_nBR Here's how it works: 😶 Seeing the unseen: Deep learning model analyzes H&E stained #pathology slides, a routine and inexpensive procedure that most hospitals already perform. It then links the gene expression profile of your tumor. Think of gene expression as the unique "fingerprint" of your cancer, revealing which genes are turned on or off. 👩🏻💻 Unlocking the code: This gene expression data is then fed into a separate tool called ENLIGHT. By analyzing this genetic fingerprint, ENLIGHT can predict how you might respond to specific cancer therapies. ⚖ You will see the impact of the treatment on tumor size or tumor volume through taking #MRI and #CT. Other imagign modalities such as #PET will show the functional response. All linked to survival. Why this is exciting to our field of #drugdevelopment? DeepPT was trained on a massive dataset encompassing over 5,500 patients across 16 different cancers. This suggests it could potentially work for a wide range of malignancies, not just a specific type. Focusing on gene expression, a fundamental aspect of cancer biology, makes ENLIGHT-DeepPT potentially more adaptable than methods relying solely on analyzing tissue slides. This research opens doors for similar techniques using high-resolution #MRI data to infer gene expression. Imagine a future where a simple MRI scan could provide valuable insights into your cancer without needing a tissue sample! #precisiononcology #trials #endpoints #imaging #deeplearning #cancerresearch

Re-sharing IMAGE ANALYSIS GROUP Team Tips & Tricks -> #MRI is like a super spy for #bones, revealing secrets X-rays can't see. Here's why MRI is the coolest bone detective around: 🏃🏻♂️ MRI catches bone problems like #osteomyelitis, bone death (avascular necrosis), and tumors early, giving you a treatment advantage. #MRI #EarlyDetection 👯 Beyond Bone Density: MRI goes deeper than just how thick your bones are. It checks out the bone's inner architecture, which is key for fighting #osteoporosis and planning the best treatment. #BoneQuality 🤺 Ligaments & Tendons: MRI can see these like nobody's business, thanks to its fancy 3D vision. This helps doctors diagnose injuries and plan surgery perfectly. #LigamentMRI #TendonMRI 🩻Tumor Time Machine: MRI is a tumor whisperer, telling doctors what kind of bone tumor it is, how well treatment is working, and even giving live updates on therapy effectiveness. #OncologyMRI ️♀️ #AdvancedMRITechniques Just a few MRI hacks from Julia O'Lynn: 'MRI has some awesome secret moves like DWI (detects early bone problems), MRS (checks bone chemistry), and DCE-MRI (sees how well blood flows in tumors) to up its bone detective game'. #BoneImaging #ClinicalTrials #MARS #Orthopedics #Oncology #MedicalImaging #biotech #InnovationInHealthcare #PatientCare #lifesciences

Bones and MRI, huh? #MRI has long been a cornerstone in medical diagnostics for soft tissue structures. So, you wouldn’t necessarily think of MRI when imaging bones, I mean, no moving protons, what could you possibly see? Go get an #Xray! Well let me tell you what you can see! 🔬 Early Detection of Bone Pathologies: MRI’s superior contrast resolution helps in diagnosing conditions like #osteomyelitis, avascular necrosis, and bone #tumors early, offering a head start in treatment. 🦴 Assessing Bone Quality: Beyond #bone density, MRI evaluates bone microarchitecture, crucial for conditions like osteoporosis, allowing for more effective treatment plans. 🏥 Ligament and Tendon Injuries: MRI’s multi-planar imaging capabilities provide detailed assessments of ligaments and tendons, essential for accurate diagnosis and surgical planning. 🎗️ Oncology Breakthroughs: MRI excels in characterizing bone tumors, monitoring treatment responses, and providing real-time insights into the efficacy of therapies. 🚀 Advanced Techniques: Diffusion-Weighted Imaging (DWI): Detects early bone marrow changes associated with malignancies or infections. Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS): Analyzes the chemical composition of tissues for studying bone metabolism. Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI): Evaluates the vascularity of bone tumors, aiding in treatment planning. I love how MRI is always evolving and in bone imaging there is promise with emerging techniques like ultrashort echo time MRI and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency. I may be biased…but MRI is just coolest imaging modality 😎 #MRI #BoneImaging #Orthopedics #Oncology #MedicalImaging #biotech #InnovationInHealthcare #PatientCare #lifesciences

#Imaging Tips from IMAGE ANALYSIS GROUP: Are you thinking about RANO 2.0 vs Quantitatve Asessement of Tumor volume in Glioma Clinical Trials? 👉Measurable Lesions: Lesions are clearly defined based on size and margin characteristics. This ensures consistency in identifying the tumor for measurement. 👉Measurement Methods: RANO allows for either 2D (area) or volumetric measurements. 2D measures the maximum cross-sectional area of the tumor, while volumetric provides a 3D size estimate. 👉Standardized Measurements: RANO 2.0 emphasizes using the Brain Tumor Imaging Protocol (BTIP) to ensure consistent image acquisition across studies. This minimizes the impact of different imaging techniques on size assessment. 👉Target Lesions: The criteria prioritize lesions with good reproducibility and size for accurate follow-up measurements. This allows researchers to track changes in the same tumor region over time. 📢 Here at IMAGE ANALYSIS GROUP, our expert team are deploying RANO 2.0 to improve consistency in glioma clinical trials and buildign imaging protocols using clear definitions for measurable lesions and selection of target lesions ensure researchers are evaluating the same elements. 📢 We ensure reliable data collection and analysis of data with #DYNAMIKA, bringing together RANO, RANO 2.0 and Quantitatve Tumor Measuements to help researchers identify effective treatments for #gliomas. Rech out to our expert team to discuss our process technology-powered standardization across trial / program and th eay we use robust data to aid development of treatments for #glioma patients.

What a magical image shared by Vahid Shahmaei which combines two advanced techniques used in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to create high-quality images of the brain: 3D Cube FLAIR 💓 AIR Recon DL (Deep Learning Reconstruction) 🏋♂️ 3D: This refers to acquiring data in three dimensions (width, height, and depth) to allow for more detailed and isotropic (uniform) images throughout the entire #brain volume. 🚴♂️ FLAIR (Fluid-Attenuated Inversion Recovery) suppresses the signal from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the clear fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. This makes it easier to see abnormalities like #lesions (damaged areas) that might otherwise be obscured by the CSF signal. 🤾♀️ Cube: This refers to the specific acquisition technique used for the 3D data. It essentially captures a cube-shaped volume of the brain with uniform resolution in all directions. 🤼 We often discuss in our clinical trials if #AI can be used to improve image quality (the AIR Recon DL is a technology developed by GE HealthCare that utilizes artificial intelligence (specifically deep learning) to improve the quality of MRI images.) 📢 Speak to our team of imaging experts about deep learning algorithms applied to existing #MRI data and learn to differentiate between noise and actual signal: [email protected] #imaging #clinicaltrials #neurology #brain

#Imaging #Osteoarthritis in Trials: OA is not just wear and tear - inflammation plays a key role in pain and progression, as shared by Prof. Mikael Boesen, IAG's Sn Lead for Clinical Research. Why assessment of #inflammation this important in clinical trials: 🏃♀️ Understanding OA: Measuring inflammation helps researchers grasp how the disease works and identify potential targets for treatment. 🚶♀️ Pain Treatments: Many OA drugs aim to reduce inflammation. Measuring it shows how well they manage this aspect of the disease, especially as reduction of inflammation correlates well with pain. 🕺 Enrolling Right: Critically, inflammation assessment (#MRI or #Ultrasound) can help distinguish OA from other conditions, ensuring trials target the right patients. Speak to our expert team to discuss how we assess inflammation in trials through imaging and support assessments of safety and efficacy: [email protected]
