Hydram - ECWRV EN 15085-2 Accredited Sheet Metal Fabricator Hydram Achieves Prestigious ECWRV Certification in Metal Fabrication and Welding Hydram Sheet Metalwork, a leading name in the metal fabrication industry, has proudly achieved ECWRV (European Certification for Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components) certification. This attainment underscores Hydram’s commitment to excellence and quality in metal fabrication and welding, specifically in the rail rolling stock sector. What Is ECWRV certification? The ECWRV certification, also known as EN 15085-2, is a rigorous standard ensuring harmonisation across Europe of the highest levels of welding quality for railway vehicles and components. Hydram’s achievement of this certification places it among a select group of companies in the UK that have met the stringent requirements of Class 1, covering welded parts with high safety relevance – the top level of accreditation.

September 6th, 2024, we proudly welcomed our new apprentice intake, bringing our total to 10 talented individuals. This week, led by Software Engineer & Apprentice Liaison Officer Lee Bailey, CAD/CAM Technician Leia Sunter and the Big On Adventure team. Our Year 1 and Year 2 apprentices, along with their counterparts from Dynamic Aerospace Fabrications, are participating in our annual 3-day residential team-building trip in the Lake District, based in Coniston. Yesterday, the team braved a Ghyll Scramble, followed by a hike up the Old Man of Coniston. Today, we conquered Pavey Ark via Stickle Tarn. The stunning location and perfect weather have made for an unforgettable experience, filled with both challenge and camaraderie. It's been a fantastic opportunity for our apprentices to build lasting relationships and strengthen their teamwork skills in such a beautiful setting.

This week, Hydram had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from Caterpillar Peterlee, which included both their local and global supply chain management teams.  It was a great opportunity for us to share some of our future plans and to discuss our journey towards #automation with the Caterpillar team, who were impressed by the cleanliness and friendly atmosphere on the shop floor. ⭐⭐ Celebrating 25 Years with Hydram Engineering! ⭐⭐ Brian joined Hydram Engineering in 1999 as a welder, moving up to weld supervisor and then into logistics, bringing skill and commitment to his role from day one. Over the years, his hard work and expertise saw him progress within the company, and in 2019, he transitioned to the role of Buyer in our Purchasing Team.
