"Good #design and standout #staff benefits are just two of the reasons why HTA Design LLP #won AJ100 #Employer of the Year for a third time in a row, the practice’s managing partner Simon Bayliss told an AJ100 lunch". I love this for HTA, and would like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to Stephanie Warner Chartered MCIPD and team who are missing from this article. I am certain her leadership of the People team and her nudges, influencing and persuasion around #inclusion have made a material difference to the #culture. https://lnkd.in/eSNBQsQJ

HTA has secured planning permission for Joyce Avenue and Snell’s Park Estates. The masterplan's success is the culmination of seven years of collaboration with Enfield Council, alongside dedicated efforts from our Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Design, Sustainability & Building Physics, and Communications teams. It marks a significant milestone in our ambition to be recognised as leaders in delivering large-scale projects, reflecting the collaborative nature of our practice. The scheme will deliver 2,028 new homes across various tenures, ensuring homes for all existing residents. It includes over 1,000 affordable homes, nearly 400 larger family homes, and features such as a 26-storey tower, perimeter blocks, and townhouses. 75 Wallis Road shortlisted in this year's AJ Retrofit and Reuse Awards! HTA Design transformed a Victorian warehouse in Hackney Wick, built in 1868 to manufacture the world's first synthetic plastic, into a modern and sustainable workspace for its 200 London-based staff. The design preserved the building's character while connecting its four separate structures by adding mezzanine floors, staircases, and roof lights. A focus on sustainability includes a holistic energy strategy, renewable energy sources, and facilities to encourage low-carbon commuting. Beyond providing a functional and inspiring workplace, HTA is committed to engaging with the local community, demonstrating the potential for adaptive reuse to revitalise urban areas and create positive social impact. https://lnkd.in/en-sj2fg Architects’ Journal #reuse #retrofit #75wallisroad #sustainability

HTA has been appointed by CHP for community-led regeneration in Chelmsford.   The plan involves replacing the existing 69 bungalows built on the two-hectare site in 1949 with a wider variety of new, zero-carbon, affordable homes that cater to the specific needs of local residents. The new neighbourhood will include interactive new green spaces and social areas, and better connections to the adjacent River Can and nearby parks. Paul Maddock, Associate Partner HTA Design said: “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with CHP, its customers, and the wider Chelmsford community to realise the regeneration of Andrews Place. Our concept design is centred on creating a healthy, dementia-friendly place that opens onto Admirals Park. In line with our component-led design approach, the plans include a range of flexible dual aspect housing types making the homes easier to construct, readily adaptable to residents’ changing needs and offering sustainable design quality. We’re looking forward to developing our concept ideas further with the local community to create a truly multi-generational garden neighbourhood, featuring biodiverse playable green spaces, a reprovision of later living homes designed to HAPPI principles, and 100% affordable housing overall for Chelmsford.” Featured in Building Design. https://lnkd.in/eFQyxyuY To find out more visit our website: https://lnkd.in/etkXcRen #housing #communityled #regeneration #affordablehousing

HTA is pleased to have been selected as a finalist in two categories at this year Building Design. Architect of the Year awards! Private Housing Architect of the Year - HTA’s submission includes 4 projects that together total more than 1700 homes, with some 900 already complete and occupied. Featured projects:  College Road provides 817 Co-living studios, extensive shared amenity space, and 120 affordable homes. At 50 storeys, it's the world's tallest modular building, delivered in just 30 months and projected to have around 40% less embodied carbon than traditional construction.   Glassworks Court is the third building to be completed within HTA's Greenford Quay masterplan and harnesses modern construction methods to provide more than 1000 homes in the five years since gaining planning consent.   Woodside Park makes productive use of a disused TfL service yard to deliver 86 affordable homes at discounted market sale for first-time buyers living or working in Barnet. The building features characterful hit-and-miss brickwork facades at each core and encloses an elegant new communal courtyard.   Botanical House secured detailed planning consent to deliver 447 homes on the side of a disused hotel in East Croydon. Expected to start on site later this year, the development targets BREEAM Outstanding and a range of higher sustainable living standards.    Best Architect Employer of the Year HTA’s mission is to create great places to live by creating a great place to work. We consider the health, wellbeing and professional development of each member of the practice as being critical to HTA’s success. Over the past year, we have expanded our flexible working policies; launched our new ‘Career Maps & Salary Guide’ offering clarity on routes to promotion and improved pay; established an internal Mentoring Programme; maintained our focus on training, learning and development; and established bi-annual reporting against our Carbon Reduction Plan and EDI Strategies. Our commitment to social and environmental responsibility is underpinned by a B-Corp score of 136.1, one of the highest in the industry. TerraQuest's Market Index Report highlights the challenges around housing delivery ahead of tomorrow's election🗳️ Dr Riette Oosthuizen MRTPI, a partner at HTA Design LLP states: "After more than two years of economic chaos and ever ongoing changes to the planning system, this report reveals that a clear majority of Britain’s population believe the country’s housing policy has been mismanaged. Shedding light on the complex and systemic problems in housing delivery, the study hits the nail on the head – illustrating how housing approvals have slowed down, even while far exceeding the rate of housing delivery. The planning system is easy to blame, but it is certainly not at the core of the problem. Ongoing political uncertainty has halted many large-scale housing schemes while we’ve also seen many schemes with planning approval now unviable due to a lack of clarity in project finance and the cost of construction... As this report makes clear, industry-wide engagement is required if we want to begin to address the problem." ➡️For a detailed analysis of these challenges and more, read the full index report here: https://ow.ly/fstV50Sr0Lc #Election2024 #HousingCrisis #PlanningSystem #EconomicChallenges #IndexReport #HTADesign #DrRietteOosthuizen #HousingPolicy
