"Say HI! for Peace" has launched! 🕊 Our annual "Say HI! for Peace" campaign has started, aligning with the UN's International Day of Peace theme for 2024. This year's focus is all about "Cultivating a Culture of Peace," and we're doing just that—one hostel, one conversation, and one traveller at a time. Our network of hostels in over 50 countries will host a variety of peace-themed activities, workshops, fundraising, art exhibitions 🎨, clothes drives 👚 , a playlist for Peace 🎶 and even a world-record attempt in Berlin! 🍞 Why are we doing this? Because we believe travel has the power to break down barriers, foster dialogue, and build bridges between cultures. Last month, Schweizer Jugendherbergen - Swiss Youth Hostels celebrated its 100th anniversary, commemorating a century of making travel accessible for everyone, and creating unforgettable memories for travellers from around the globe. Gathering at the idyllic Bächlihof in Rapperswil-Jona, they raised a toast to the past hundred years and looked optimistically towards the future. Hostelling International's CEO Brianda Lopez was honoured to attend the event, celebrating this remarkable milestone alongside Swiss Youth Hostels.
