About us
Hometree is a home energy services company on a mission to accelerate the transition to net zero. By fixing, installing and financing home energy hardware, we're helping homeowners transition to low-carbon living, when they’re ready. Heating is responsible for 14% of all greenhouse gas emissions in the UK. If we're serious about hitting those net zero goals to mitigate the climate emergency, we need to act. The transition has already begun but it’s a mammoth task and it won’t happen overnight. We know the challenges on the table – with soaring energy costs, expensive heat pumps and home infrastructure challenges, homeowners are left with many pressing questions - which option should I choose - heat pump or hydrogen boiler? Who will install the equipment - and- how will I afford it? That's where Hometree comes in. We understand that homeowners will make the journey at their own pace - and our role is to assist them along the way. We recently spoke with Renewable Energy Installer to discuss our mission to make renewable home energy installations, servicing and maintenance simpler for UK homeowners. In the Q&A, our CEO, Simon Phelan shared his vision for accelerating the decarbonisation of UK homes by simplifying the process for both homeowners and installers. Yesterday, we gathered for our companywide Town Hall and Summer Party in London with people joining us from across the UK (and online) to celebrate our key milestones and achievements over the last 6 months - and to look ahead to what comes next in our plans to tackle home decarbonisation… Cheers to everyone, for all the great work so far, this year - and here's to continuing to build a brighter future in the home for many more homeowners! A few highlights from the year so far... ⭐ We welcomed Geowarmth, The Little Green Energy Company | TLGEC and IMS Heat Pumps Limited into the Group ⭐ We raised money from the largest investor in the world, BlackRock ⭐ We launched our Heat Pump Service Plan ⭐ We raised £250m from Barclays to help get solar, batteries and heat pumps into 28,000 UK homes, on finance, over the next 2-3 years ⭐ We're now proud to serve more than 100,000 customers in our Home Cover division ⭐ We've welcomed many new wonderful employees into the Group. Waking up to the election results today made me really hopeful for the next few years 🙏 Not only the Labour victory who want to make the UK a "clean energy superpower" but also 75 seats for parties with clear environmental priority of getting the UK to net-zero sooner that 20250 (Liberal Democrat and the Green Party). Yes there is not the scale of investment that was previously stated but this is a positive step forward. For us at Hometree it is great to see Labour understanding the need for mobilising capital into green technologies ☀ Similarly supporting and training the next generation of engineers to realise this transition is a key priority for Hometree and hopefully we’ll see support in this area from Labour too. Congratulations to Hometree on securing an asset-backed debt facility for the UK’s first residential renewable securitisation: which further strengthens their ambition to decarbonise homes across Europe. Hometree intends to use proceeds to finance over 28,000 residential solar panel systems, batteries and heat pumps across the UK over the next two years.
