We are thrilled to announce that Trichem South Ltd have entered into a new agreement with Holiferm to include their biosurfactants in their latest laundry detergent formulations. Performance of these products has always been their main focus and over recent years the need to use more organic, environmentally friendly raw materials has been instrumental in their planning and growth. Holiferm's 100% green biosurfactants 100% manufactured in the UK are a natural fit for their products. Today we are sharing our carbon footprint for our product at 1.16 tonnes CO2/tonne active sophorolipid, or 0.7 tonnes CO2/tonne finished product, both on a cradle to gate basis.  This already compares favourably to petrochemical and palm derived surfactants, which typically have a carbon footprint of 2-3 tonnes/tonne (and higher for palm), meaning each tonne of sophorolipids can offset the production of 1-2 tonnes of CO2. It's always a pleasure to be able to help our staff level up their skills and knowledge. We always try to make sure this is targeting and relevant. When our Holifermers filled in their annual diversity survey forms we asked them if there were any elements surrounding the topic that needed addressing. One area identified was unconscious bias. We, therefore, ran training workshops on consecutive days at each of our sites around this topic. The sessions were led by Helen Moran from HRH Learning Solutions. Everyone was focused, alert and participated fully making for some in-depth and interesting conversations around the topic. A group of willing (and maybe a little crazy) Holifermers will be running the Alton Towers 10K in November to raise money for Cash for Kids. The team taking part are: Richard L., Andrew Hardwick, Mariane Gaio (Assoc CIPD), Lynne Webster (MCIPD), Gary Deeny , Jaime Lowe, Alastair Veitch, Amanda Grant, Ben Dolman, Jonathan Daly, John Faber, Tom Lester 🌱, Tom Pallett, Sid Palmer, Lawrence Clarke, James Wilding and Simon Bennett.
