9 hours spent in A&E recently with my Mum! I was reminded of 3 beautiful lessons in humanity… 1️⃣ The simplest of moments can remove a complexity of fears, if we start with genuine curiosity. One doctor asked my Mum a question she’d never been asked before: “What name do you go by?” The doctor could see her name on her file of course. But none of us are a ‘file’. In fact she prefers Ela to Pamela. 2️⃣ A smile - a real smile is free and priceless. The same doctor shared a lesson she always remembered from Med school: “The first treatment a patient receives is a doctor’s smile”. She ‘treated’ every single patient with a smile; yes, she often didn’t get a smile back (and worse), yes she was busy, yes she was tired, yes her 6 year old didn’t want her to go to work that night but that was a non-negotiable for her. 3️⃣ Wheelchairs don’t take corners well! Ok, not so much a lesson in humanity as much as my poor wheelchair handling skills. Note to self, leave more space for the corners. Although as I write that, perhaps there’s a lesson in there too… Update: Mum is doing ok, she’s not great at resting but turns out we can’t heal without rest - go figure! #sandwichgeneration #motherdaughter #lifelessons

“What is it that you speak on actually?!” Here’s what I told the event planner: I speak on the power of being a Possiblist™ as you know if you’ve been following my work for a while! But that wouldn’t mean much to her I knew! “How to elevate curiosity and ignite minds for growth” I said. “Ooh yes, we need to ignite our people’s minds” she said. For individuals and organisations to grow, they need fuel. And igniting their minds is like rocket fuel! If you want to know more about how we can work together to ignite minds in you and your organisation - let's jump on a call: https://lnkd.in/dRGCg-3 #possiblist #professionalspeaker #femalespeaker

Proud parenting moment below! 👇 Parent-teacher evenings are always a bit of a coaching opportunity with me! (Don’t judge, I make it fun, of course!) Here’s the win of the evening… I asked the teachers for 3 words to describe how Rafe and Marlowe are doing. Both teachers used the word 🥁🥁🥁 CURIOUS! If you know, it is just one of my 7 favourite c words! (see my coaching methodology here if you’re still confused: https://lnkd.in/gjfFm_gx ) Hopefully, in a few years, their teachers will be using words like Possiblist! 😅… is this word catching on yet?! Anyone know how I can get it added to the dictionary? #curious #curiosity #possiblist

"Why do I ALWAYS let myself…" "God, it’s so TYPICAL of me to…" "I’ll NEVER be able to…" After a profound session with a client, I was struck by how our thoughts can create limitations and perpetuate a sense of scarcity. My client was feeling overwhelmed, convinced she never had enough time in the day. Through our dialogue, she had a breakthrough realisation: "Time is a function of my thoughts." This insight was truly transformative. Understanding that her perceptions, not external circumstances, dictated her feelings of rush allowed her to find clarity and flow more effortlessly. I used the metaphor of a river: when our minds are clear, our path forward is as clear as a flowing river. However, worries and negative thoughts can stir up "silt," clouding our vision. We explored how identifying and changing limiting language such as "always" and "never" can help us spot patterns sooner. By reframing time as a mental construct rather than a physical constraint and swiftly addressing limiting thoughts, my clients feel more empowered and in control of their lives. Effective leadership involves mastering our inner world as much as our outer circumstances, and I'm grateful for the continual insights my clients share. Can you relate to these examples of limiting language? Are you working on catching and changing these thoughts in your own life? #limitinglanguage #limitingbelief #possiblist

I believe curiosity has been timed out of us… here’s what I mean by that 👇 The ‘why’ stage children go through is full of wonder! (for any parent, though, it is typically wondering when this stage will end) As time goes on and our attention shifts, we tell ourselves, “I must find out the answer to that when I get a moment,” only for it to be left on the pile of Forgotten Curiosity at the back of our minds. Today is New Conversations Day, so here is an easy action to celebrate… I encourage you to write down all the questions you want to know the answers to. And then I want you to find the answers any way you can! #curiosity #curious #possiblist It may look like: - Reaching out to a contact who you know will have interesting insights into this question - Setting aside time to Google the answers - Seeing if you can find the answers hiding in your day-to-day activities - Finding experts online and following them on social This exercise has only one problem: once the curiosity is unleashed, it generally leads to more questions than answers! But don’t worry, that’s the best part ;)

"What's your favourite song, mummy?" Marlowe then asked me to sing it to her, and when I finished… she asked me to sing it again! It’s "Pure Imagination" from the original Willy Wonka. I sang it to both my kids when they were babies and never knew why until I listened to it again with fresh ears 2 years ago. It all became clear - the lyrics spoke volumes about my work and what we as humans have access to as Possiblists!™ I do love a full-circle moment, don’t you? 🌟✨ #pureimagination #possiblist #mindset
