About us
Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) is a successful provider of mental health and learning disability services. Our aspiration is to be the leading provider in the country. If you are ambitious, understand our values and want to take your career to the next level, we want to hear from you. We provide health and social care for over 400,000 people with mental ill health, physical ill health and learning disabilities across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Norfolk and North Essex. We employ nearly 3,000 staff who delivers these services within the community as well inpatient settings. We are one of a small number of mental health trusts to achieve an overall rating of ‘Outstanding’ from the Care Quality Commission. One of the reasons for this is the fact that we have a highly motivated workforce and are proud to be the highest scoring mental health trust nationally for ‘motivation at work’. Over 70% of staff agreed that: “If a friend or relative needed treatment, I would be happy with the standard of care provided by this organisation.” It is a fantastic achievement and validates all our hard work to ensure our staff have the best possible working environment and the support they need to fulfil their roles. However, we want to continuously improve and our Good to Great strategy will enable us to do this. Our values are at the heart of everything we do so that we deliver an experience that is consistently welcoming, kind, positive, respectful and professional. This is reflected in the way that we interact with service users and in the way that we support our staff. If you want to work for an organisation that is values-driven, dynamic and fast-moving please contact us.

Delivering a culture of care was at the heart of a workshop facilitated by the The Royal College of Psychiatrists at HPFT’s head office. The Culture of Care Programme is part of NHS England’s Quality Transformation Programme and colleagues from three wards (Forest House, Owl and Wren) attended the first coaching workshop. The aim of NHS England’s Quality Transformation Programme is to improve the culture of inpatient mental health, learning disability and autism wards for service users and staff so that they are safe, therapeutic and equitable places to be cared for, and fulfilling places to work. For the next two years, the Royal College of Psychiatrists will be supporting HPFT with the Culture of Care programme and help to identify areas where they can make changes and improve the culture in their wards, and support them in making those identified changes happen. #MentalHealth #LearningDisabilities #Autism #HPFT #WeAreGreatTogether

They have been visiting our inpatient units, meeting clinical and non-clinical staff, talking to service users, and spending time at our head office.
