In light of welcoming three new scholars to the Here East Scholarship Programme, we caught up with the 2023 scholar recipient, William Camara👇 Now, a year into studying Computer Game Design at the University of Staffordshire London, we heared more about his plans for the future. 🚀 How has the Here East Scholarship shaped William’s journey so far? “Not only has the scholarship provided me with financial support and encouragement to pursue my goals but the recognition of my skills also instilled confidence and motivation to persevere.” 🎮 What are his ambitions for the future? “My goal is to be a great game designer. Not only a designer who is good at making games; but also someone with a diverse range of skills and an excellent team behind them. The next step is to create a small team of friends and get a small studio.” 🤝 How has being part of Here East’s collaborative community helped? “The Here East community has helped me to talk to more people and because of that, I have met some interesting people who have connections to the career I want to work in.” 💡 What’s his advice for other young East Londoners and prospective students? “Be willing to go outside your comfort zone and make friends.
