What a very special Sunday we had: full of fun and liquorice! ⚫🍭 😊 Last weekend, we celebrated the annual Liquorice Festival in our home in Pontefract as the event’s headline sponsor, and the typical Yorkshire weather didn’t get in the way- Goldbear simply got the umbrella out! To open the event, we heard from local MP and Home Secretary The Rt Yvette Cooper and Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire. Leader of Wakefield Council Denise Jeffery and Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport at Wakefield Council Michelle Collins were also there on stage! From the HARIBO Liquorice Parade featuring a cast of vibrant HARIBO-themed costumes to our retail colleagues who ran our stall - #TeamHARIBO were out in full force creating some moments of childlike happiness for our local community! 🎓🎓Last week, in partnership with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, our People Team welcomed a group of 15 teachers from the local area to our Castleford site for a ‘tour & talk’ as part of the “Teacher Encounters” training programme that we are taking part in. Our #TeamHARIBO gave teachers first hand experience of the workplace, an understanding of the current job market, and support to embed careers education into school lessons! As a leading employer in Yorkshire, we believe we can help teachers to better inform and prepare students for life after education by giving them all the tools they will need to be successful as they make the transition into the world of work! With that in mind, we are delighted to announce that we are the head sponsor of this year’s Pontefract Liquorice Festival! The event celebrating Yorkshire’s Liquorice heritage will take place on Sunday 14th July, and we are proud to be able to be a part of this historic and exciting festival which has such deep roots in both, the area and the history of our products.
