Today saw UU launch a unique exhibition entitled the Faces of Family Business. Eleven businesses were asked to submit three images and an artefact that represents their story. What a powerful collection of exhibits emerged. Family histories and timelines that marry the past to the present and maintain those core values that make them such a powerful force in our economy. From apple trees planted 55 years ago in County Armagh to ice cream from Italy stretching back to 1911 the background to each of the businesses is both fascinating and an insight into their heritage. The exhibition was organised by the Northern Ireland Family Business Forum, HM’s longstanding partnership with UU’s Centre for Sustainable Family enterprise. Thanks to Ian Smyth PhD , Louise O'Boyle and the team at UU for all the work involved. Most importantly a sincere thanks to those family businesses who exhibited. We are stronger together, there is so much we can learn from each other. It was an inspirational day and a privilege for HM to be involved with. The exhibition is on until Wednesday this week at Birley Building at UU, we'd highly recommend calling in.
