The UK #AI scene has received another big boost with a $10 million Series A funding round secured by Manchester-based startup, CultureAI. The platform detects potentially risky online behaviour on the part of employees, such as repeating passwords and interacting with phishing attempts. This allows companies to better protect themselves from myriad cyber threats. Its CEO has described the technology as emulating the effectiveness of a “team of thousands” – a striking statement which goes some way to explaining why the startup has raised more than $19 million in total so far.

Our recent Enterprise Software M&A report notes how the power of #AI to transform tools in this sector is helping drive investor and acquirer interest. A recent windfall for Irish startup Solidroad is a case in point, with the Dublin-based onboarding platform successfully raising $1.2 million. Pitched as a “flight simulator for customer facing teams”, Solidroad allows staff to practice conversations with customers and receive personalised feedback from an AI coach, and is a prime example of how #machinelearning is impacting recruitment and training processes.
