Welcome aboard Scotland and Essex! Over the next 12 months we’ll be supporting these businesses in their quest to reach new international markets – with trade missions, events, connections and so much more 🚀 🤝 Monday was a fantastic opportunity for our cohort to get to know each other as well as everything the programme offers, and they were also introduced to our wonderful partners at Microsoft, Oury Clark, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen), Deel, GrantTree and twentyAI who will be on hand to support their growth journey. Cohort launch is a great way to get to know Grow London Global, and we were joined by London & Partners CEO Laura Citron OBE and alumni company Transreport’s COO Waleed Ahmed for a fireside chat on how we have supported their high-speed international growth 📈 🔉 A highlight was hearing from our super successful alumni LIVR (Leo Kellgren-Parker), Findr (Greg Watts) and Satago (Sinéad McHale) on how they made the most out of the programme in an engaging panel. London is one of the best places in the world to launch and scale a business and the numbers speak for themselves.” - Janet Coyle CBE, Managing Director of Grow London, London & Partners.   📊Latest data from DealRoom shows that London attracted an impressive $6.8billion venture capital tech investment in the first half of 2024 - up 31% from the same period in 2023. This reinforces the capital’s position as the leading tech hub in Europe and the only city outside the U.S. to secure such level of tech investment.   At Grow London, we play our part in helping the city’s tech scaleups succeed. Companies that joined our Grow London Global programme grew 12.5% to 15% faster in the first two years after the programme.   Read the full article here - https://bit.ly/3XBXMd0

📈 Yesterday, we hosted an insightful Access to Funding session for our enterprise sector scaleup community. 🤝 We were pleased to welcome Ana Fernandez from Nauta Capital – an early stage B2B software investor with a pan–European focus. Our scaleups gained valuable insights into Nauta's investment philosophy, thanks to a fantastic discussion moderated by our own Lasya Rao, Senior Investor Relations Manager. We gathered some fantastic takeaways, including: 💡 When approaching investors, don’t hesitate to ask what support they offer beyond finance; for example, introductions, talent seeking, expansion advice. 💡 Founders should understand basic ‘VC maths’ – how VCs calculate and project whether investing in your company will provide strong return at the end of the fund cycle. 💡Investor priorities vary by stage and business model – at Seed, fast-growing recurring revenues and contract values, ability to diversify customer base and a team capable of scaling are important metrics; at Series A, growth, capital efficiency and a repeatable playbook for sales and marketing are key. 💡 Investment decisions can be influenced by the stage of the VC fund – later in the fund’s lifecycle, the focus can shift to businesses that are further along in the investor’s target range. 💡 In challenging market conditions, B2B software companies should focus on being a ‘painkiller’ for their customers, demonstrating how their solution is critical to buyers’ business operations. Thank you to our wonderful Jasmin Campbell for bringing this event together. Explore Grow London's diverse services and join our vibrant community through our programmes. 👉 https://bit.ly/3QTacLH
