Every site that we have operational control over uses 100% renewable energy. For the remaining sites we are liaising with the landlords to promote renewable energy supply options. This switch to renewable energy enables us to reduce our carbon footprint and progress further on our journey to net zero by 2038. As we push forward with our carbon reduction plans we already have some alternative fuel vehicles in our fleet, with more to follow. This electric tractor demo is currently touring some of our depots to give our people an opportunity to explore what the electric units are capable of. So far feedback has included; "it's lovely to drive", "it has a very comfortable interior", and "it's a lovely looking vehicle". #RenewableLogistics #AlternativeFuels #SustainableTransport #ElectricTruck #NetZeroLogistics #DeliveringWinners

This is Mark Cullen receiving his 5 year long service award from his supervisor Gary Wolff and eagerly cheered on by HGV mechanics Duncan, Jerry, Ollie and Derek. While Mark is celebrating his 5 year anniversary, he has been familiar with the Gregory Group for much longer having joined the team 21 years ago. A brief stint elsewhere, he then returned to the team in 2019. We asked him about his career and here is what he said: How did your career begin? I wanted to be an electrician but an opportunity to become a mechanic came along. I started with cars and moved on to static plant, and then HGVs. Thankfully I really enjoy my job so I think it was the right career for me! What do you enjoy about working at Gregory Group? The people I work with. From colleagues in the workshop to the admin team next door - we are a like-minded bunch who enjoy our working life. What changes have you seen during your time? The greatest change is the modernisation of vehicles, specifically the addition of electric vehicles. With the future of HVO and possibly full electric, I am sure I will see more changes before my retirement. With a 40 year history as a mechanic, what advice would you give to anyone else considering this as a career? Don't do it if you don't like getting dirty! But if you don't mind that, go for it. It's an opportunity to grow from car mechanic to HGV. Plus you get to use bigger hammers! #EmployeeSpotlight #OurPeople #WorkAnniversaries #DeliveringWinners

This is Darren Norris. In 1999 Darren joined us as a Management Accountant. Today he is our Operational Compliance Controller which includes tasks such as managing our insurance and operator licences. We asked Darren what has kept him interested over the last 25 years and here is what he said: "I've had a number of different roles which keeps things fresh and interesting. Today my role is very diverse and I get to work with people from all parts of the business. I really like this variety and knowing that each day could bring something new. I'm also very proud to have been part of the Gregory Group journey in the last 25 years. We've grown significantly and it is rewarding knowing that I've played a small part in helping Gregory Group become what it is today." #OurPeople #EmployeeSpotlight #DeliveringWinners

Well done to Adrian Smith who recently received his 25th year long service award. Adrian is an LGV Driver and Relief Night Supervisor at our Davidstow depot. When he arrived in 1999 he was helping out for two weeks. 25 years later, he's still here, so we asked him what has kept him here for two and a half decades. Here's what he said: "Every day is different which makes the job interesting. While running the office can come with challenges, I work with a good team and really enjoy the night shift. It's a good job to work in." #EmployeeSpotlight #EmployeeMilestone #OurPeople #DeliveringWinners

Today's #ThrowbackThursday is of the 7 original drivers of Craib Transport. This was taken not long before Craib merged with Aberdeen Road Runners in 1983. From left to right they are; Sandy Ogston, Jim 'Speedy' Watson, George 'Beachcomber' Mutch, Kenny 'Pirelli' Watson, Jim 'The Reverend' McKay, Cammy Forbes, and Bob 'Moody Blue' Leslie. The nicknames were used on the CB radios. 😊 #TBT #OurHeritage #DeliveringWinners

Mark joined us 5 years ago as a driver apprentice which led him to become a milk tanker driver collecting milk from farms in Devon and Cornwall. On his 5 year work anniversary, we asked him a bit more about his journey with us. 1) What did you do before you worked at Gregory Group? I worked in a factory making desserts for a supermarket. 2) What do you enjoy most about your job? Being out on the road and talking to the farmers about everyday things. 3) What advise would you give to others considering a similar career? Get on and do it! It's a great job and is the best thing I've done. The training I received was brilliant and the fellow drivers are a really good bunch. Thank you to Mark for taking the time to tell us more about his role. If you are interested in a similar role, have a look at our current vacancies: https://lnkd.in/dr6mVBfM #EmployeeSpotlight #CelebratingWorkAnniversaries #milktankers #DeliveringWinners
