Well done to Green Cat’s Callum McMillan, Gregor Stewart BEng MIET and Nathan W. who completed the 10k event at Run the Blades 2024 on Friday at Whitelee - the UK’s largest onshore wind farm. The 10K was the first of three races held over the weekend, with the half marathon and the 50K ultramarathon completing the set. A big thanks must go to Breaking Strain for organising the event, and also to ScottishPower Renewables for hosting and sponsoring it. Run the Blades 2025 will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the event and the team are already looking forward to taking part again! #running #renewables #runtheblades #scottishpowerrenewables

About us
Green Cat Renewables is a dynamic, innovative, and growing company that provides tailored support to the needs of the individual developer throughout the entire development process, from site selection to commissioning. Unlike most consultancies, we are prepared to carry some of the project development risk, particularly where we can help control the outcome, ensuring a far greater level of commitment to projects than consultant “selling hours”. Green Cat Renewables is made up of a multidisciplinary team of wind and small scale hydro specialists; planners, environmental consultants, civil, electrical, highways, geotechnical and mechanical engineers, as well as installation engineers and specialist technicians. .

Yesterday saw our team onsite in Kilbirnie for our transport trial run from the King George V port in Glasgow, marking a major milestone in the Radio City Association community wind farm project we are client’s engineer on. With the assistance of Police Scotland and expertise of Collett & Sons Ltd, the trailer was configured to ensure that our 33m blades would be able to make it to site safely and without issue. Thanks to the hard work of RJ McLeod (Contractors) Limited, who conduct the offsite and onsite works, the trial run was a resounding success. Green Cat would like to extend thanks to the local residents of Dalry and Kilbirnie for their patience as we manoeuvred through the tight pinch points in the villages. We are now looking forward to the components arriving later in the year and bringing this project to life. #windfarm #communitywindturbine #windpower #renewables

Great to meet up with Keiran Knowles of ZX Lidars at All Energy this week following the recent expansion of our fleet, and see our Technical Director, Cameron Sutherland, shake hands on the deal. Our Principal Noise Consultant, Merlin Garnett who manages the fleet, uses these LiDARs for some of our wind turbine noise measurement campaigns. To his right is Principal Wind Analyst, Glen Roseberry, who leads on our wind assessment activities for our developer clients. Green Cat has built up significant experience in setting up, running and analysing data from ZX LiDARs. Let us know if we can assist you with any of your assessment needs for onshore wind projects. #wind #allenergy24 #renewables

More news on our work with Full Circle Wind Services and Zephyrus Green Energy on the Strathallan Wind Farm project. Green Cat Group chief executive Gavin Catto said: “Strathallan is an exciting new development for Green Cat. In the later phases, it is planned that the wind project will be married up with a solar farm and used for co-located generation of electrolytic hydrogen. “This use of co-located technologies, and the use of second-hand machines, are just some of the innovative ways we are responding to the changing needs and economics of the energy industry in Scotland. “We look forward to a long-term, mutually beneficial working relationship with Full Circle.” #windpower #renewables #hydrogen #strathallan #renewablesinnovation https://lnkd.in/eCJPtURb
