Last month we submitted plans for Pellatt Road - the transformation of an underutilised piece of land opposite Preston Road Sports Ground into a bold and characterful new residential development in the heart of Wembley.   The design approach is rooted around the original Metroland ethos, with homes set within abundant greenspace amenity, whilst drawing architectural inspiration from exemplar modernist buildings within the borough. The low-energy proposal features 13 generously proportioned dual-aspect homes that widen the offer available locally and support a community of all ages. Homes that will be environmentally responsible, with carefully selected enduring materials, super-insulated and with on-site renewables to deliver sustainable homes that are cheap to run. The sculpted form addresses the sports ground in the spirit of the pavilion which once stood on the site. We’re looking forward to the AJ Retrofit and Reuse Awards this evening. Our scheme, 89 and 89.5 Workship Street is shortlisted in the Adaptive Reuse into Office category. Worship Street is an amalgamation of three buildings to create a campus site with an overall increase in floor area through the modernisation of the basement and the creation of a new mezzanine floor. The design activates the warehouse space whilst engaging with its context to provide flexible, modern office space and reinvigorate this backland site. In other exciting news, it will be the new home to Steven Bartlett’s Flight Studio, we can’t wait to see what Steven and his team do with the space! Good luck to all evening, see you there.
