#Ransomware - what is the current reality? Some stats and a good read from ISTARI with a worrying note of caution - intensifying of damage: 🐞 59% of organisations were affected by ransomware in the last year 🐞 The higher the revenue, the more likely a company was to suffer an attack 🐞 Even among the smallest organisations, with a revenue of under $10m, almost half were hit 🐞 Central & federal governments had the highest rate of ransomware incidents across all industries (68%) - politics likely playing a part 🐞 France had the highest rate at 74%, followed by South Africa at 69% and Italy at 68% The report explores how many organisations were hit by ransomware hacks over the last year, critically why attacks are getting worse, and what recovery looks like. So what is the issue with "intensifying of damage" and how can Goldilock help? Hackers often seize a company’s backup systems: 👉 Attempting to do so in 94% of cases, successful in 57% of cases, cutting off the organisation’s chances of restoring its data. 💡In cases where backups were impacted, ransom sums doubled, as did the likelihood the victim would pay up. 👉 32% of attacks involved data theft, often leading to hackers selling it on the dark web. Our FireBreak™ 1. physically isolates your data and clean backups 2. serves as a 24 hour guardian, enabling instant physical disconnection of the attacked system from the internet >> on-demand, remotely, without an IP-based trigger. #DisconnectToProtect #NATODIANA #NCSCForStartups #MadeInUK https://lnkd.in/egWtrh_r

Dynamic Physical Network Segmentation (#DPNS) Connect/Disconnect, anything, anytime, from anywhere without the internet
About us
Manage true physical segmentation, remotely, instantly and without using the internet. No VPN’s, no IPv6, no IPv4 - no packets to sniff and no appliances to be seen. “I would like to introduce you to an exciting new approach to protecting high value network assets - a physical "drawbridge" called Goldilock. If you need to protect crown jewel data, such as intellectual property or computing infrastructure, this is your solution…it uniquely achieves what no other solution can.” Gregory Akers, Advanced Security Research, CISCO. Find out why Britain’s GCHQ National Cyber Security Center, chose Goldilock. Dynamic Physical Network Segmentation (#DPNS) Goldilock is revolutionizing the way data and critical infrastructure are protected online. How? Our patented solution allows you to physically connect and disconnect anything from the internet, from anywhere, at anytime, without using the internet do do it - thus eliminating the internet as a threat vector. The Goldilock premise is that your data and systems should not be physically connected to the Internet when you’re not using them, but that they need to be available to you from anywhere, immediately. Goldilock's non-IP controlled Drawbridge technology applies the same principle and technology to network architecture - allowing network administrators, directors and other authorized individuals to instantaneously connect and disconnect devices, control systems and network zones for data isolation, mitigation of zero-day or ransomware incidents. Have total control of your data and infrastructure, save money and sleep better knowing Goldilock is at your fingertips.

Startup or Scaleup (more on that below)? In the IT and #cybersecurity HW business, one does not progress from one to the other without a strong distribution policy. For Goldilock, this has meant a 100% channel strategy, stewarded by our Chief Revenue Officer, Steven Brodie. Along with R&D growth (thanks for all the support NATO DIANA, National Cyber Security Centre and Defence and Security Accelerator) comes our eagerly anticipated sales growth - the "scaling-up"💪. Our channel partners are critical for making this happen: ⚡Distributors: Cyber Distribution (UK), NAPERTO (Mainland Europe) and CREAPLUS (Mainland Europe). ⚡Resellers: Brookcourt Solutions (UK, Enterprise), Sterling (UK & US, Defence and Security), NCS Group (Singapore, Enterprise) and BKJ Works (US, Enterprise). And startup vs. scaleup? We're on the cusp. Interestingly, startup was first coined in the mid-70s by Forbes, with scaleup coming into use from the mid-noughties with Y-Combinator et. al. https://lnkd.in/e8U-2kQs #NATODIANA #NCSCForStartups

Companies are already facing AI Security Breaches Some statistics from HiddenLayer's "AI Threat Landscape Report 2024" ⚡98% of IT leaders consider their AI models crucial to business success ⚡77% of companies have already faced AI breaches ⚡92% are working on strategies to tackle this emerging threat According to Hidden Layer's CEO Chris Sestito: “Artificial intelligence is, by a wide margin, the most vulnerable technology ever to be deployed in production systems. It’s vulnerable at a code level, during training and development, post-deployment, over networks, via generative outputs, and more.” Delivering instant physical disconnection for protection, remotely if needed and of course with a non-IP based trigger now needs to be considered as part of any CISOs #cyberdefence toolkit. In yesterday’s King’s speech, the UK government proposed its new Cyber Security and Resilience Bill aimed at strengthening the country’s #cybersecurity posture. Our COO and Co-Founder, Stephen Kines, took this opportunity to talk about the clear and present danger the UK is facing: “Nation-state actors are actively developing and deploying #cyberweapons to disrupt economies, steal sensitive data, and even cause physical harm. Ignoring this growing threat leaves the UK exposed.” Carla Baker (Senior Director of Government Affairs for Palo Alto Networks) mentions high-profile #cyberattacks targeting the NHS, defence and other critical sectors of our economy - this bill could not come at a better time and shout out to Cyber Magazine’s Kristian McCann for covering this critical topic.
How will the UK government's new Cyber Security and Resilience Bill impact your business? Stephen Kines, COO and Co-founder of Goldilock, and Carla Baker, Senior Director of Government Affairs for Palo Alto Networks, weigh in on the importance of these initiatives. #UKGovernment #CyberResilience #DataProtection

According to The Wall Street Journal: "Heads of state and government agencies are increasingly warning about #cybersecurity threats to power grids and other critical infrastructure." To tackle this threat, NATO is funding startups via the NATO DIANA program that build technology to protect #criticalinfrastructure from #cyberattacks. Our COO and co-founder, Stephen Kines, was one of three startups featured in WSJ's article on this topic: "Goldilock’s device doesn’t use the internet, instead disabling systems via SMS texting. The tech eliminates the need to send staff to field sites in an emergency to disconnect cables manually. Diana administrators introduced us to a renewable energy company where we demonstrated our product during a simulated cyberattack." Goldilock was one of 44 successful companies selected to Diana’s first cohorst out of 1,300 applicants. The program has been intense and very worthwhile - the beauty of #DualUse technologies is its leveraging for multiple use cases. For those with cutting edge technology, we definitely recommend applying (applications currently open). Very much appreciate Catherine Stupp and Kim Nash and for covering this important topic. #NATODIANA #NCSCForStartups #MadeInUK and soon to be #MadeInUSA as well!
NATO is funding startups that build technology to protect critical infrastructure from cyberattacks. The program, known as the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic, or Diana, launched late last year and marks the first time the military alliance has subsidized early-stage companies working on energy cybersecurity and secure communications systems. We took a look at three of the 44 companies in the program: Hushmesh Inc., with CEO Manu Fontaine; Goldilock, with COO Stephen Kines; and levelQuantum, with CEO Magdalena Stobinska. https://lnkd.in/eE7YXfFU

Insightful! Summing up COO Stephen Kines' experience in a word of the NATO Summit Defense Industry Forum. Excellent speakers all around - highlights included: H.E. Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz (First Deputy PM and Minister of Defence of Poland) gave everyone present a reality check, concerning “1,200 cyber attacks every week against the Polish Government”, followed by discussions with Brig. Gen. Mariusz Chmielewski from Polish Cyber Command. Vice Admiral Guy Robinson CB OBE, NATO Chief of Staff talking about the need for “Multi-Domain to include synchronisation with non-military domains like cyber.” Finally, Manfred Boudreaux-Dehmer, NATO CIO speaking about the importance of technology that reduces the #cyberattack surface and the releasing of a mechanism for NATO trusted vendors by February 2025. Thank you U.S. Chamber of Commerce Cyber, Space and National Security Division for this opportunity and NATO DIANA and UK Ministry of Defence for all your support. #NCSCForStartups #NATODIANA #Cyberdefence National Cyber Security Centre | Defence and Security Accelerator
