Two weeks of wet gas testing for Adjusta-Cone® at TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory. GM Flow Measurement Services Ltd are looking forward to welcoming our visitors tomorrow, to see Adjusta-Cone's amazing 50:1 flow range (turndown ratio), automatic range switching and zero gas releases during the 2 minutes changeover operation. Two meters in series have already been tested at high pressures and now we've moved to lower pressures this week, all at up to 0.3 XLM and 0 to 100% WC ranges. An Ai Exploration WCM is mounted in the line too, to give real time water-cut readings into our flow computer, so we can easily split out the oil and water flow rates, from the wet and corrected dry gas readings. Adjusta-Cone can be used for replacing orifice meters on test separators, or for oversized wet gas venturi meters which have a very limited turndown ratio. GM Flow have embarked on an extensive programme, to test the longevity of the sliding sleeve seals within our patented Adjusta-Cone, adjustable differential pressure cone flow meter. Customers love the massive flow range created by the sliding sleeve within Adjusta-Cone, but rightly so, some have asked about the sleeve seal longevity. What better way then, to directly address this, than to test the seals by cycling the flow range sleeve multiple (hundreds of) cycles at high pressures and temperatures until failure. So far, we're on track to achieve the desired results, testing at over 120 Deg C and 125 Bar of internal pressure . And we're offering a small prize for anyone who can guess the correct average number of cycles the seals will produce before failure?   With grateful thanks to Saketh Mahalingam of Aramco Overseas, for the valuable time, resources and encouragement to make this project happen.
