Here's why South Africa needs to be on your map if you're an #investor or (aspiring) #founder. In 2020, Innovus Technology Transfer Office at Stellenbosch University celebrated a first for Africa: it launched a university venture fund dedicated solely to spinouts. It was a “huge paradigm shift" for Stellenbosch University, says Anita Nel, RTTP. External investors have taken note too: since the University Technology Fund was launched with the backing from public-private investment vehicle SA SME Fund, there have been “hundreds of millions of rand” invested in #startups coming out of university incubator LaunchLab, adds Brandon Paschal. Find out how the fund and LaunchLab are reshaping South Africa on Beyond the Breakthrough, available now on our website and every major podcast platform, including: Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/enJw_M9d Spotify: https://lnkd.in/ewmmbPcK Amazon Music: https://lnkd.in/eF7khrKA Audible: https://lnkd.in/eTCvqhEc
