Endings are often not done well. For all the talk of change and transformation, we rarely pay enough attention to how we help things to end. We turn our gaze away from sickness, death and dying, literally and metaphorically, and as a society we suffer as a result. Hospice nurse and palliative care specialist Gemma Lloyd joins us to steer a conversation about what leaders can learn from the palliative care setting. This will be useful stuff for anyone in a change role, people in consulting and coaching, and anyone with an interest in how to work better with the difficult parts of life. It’s on Tuesday 16 July, 0830-1000, please do come. Please share this with your colleagues and contacts. Info on how to register below 👇 https://lnkd.in/ezE5Gsh3

Is shared leadership and deep participation a real thing, or just a pipedream? If you want to get a more participative culture, what can you do to allow your aspirations a living chance? Dr Sybille Schiffmann will draw on her Doctoral work with a conventional and hierarchical organisation to share the uneasy ride involved when a senior leadership team commit to cultivating  a shared leadership environment. Her findings reveal the nitty-gritty of what it takes for leadership to be shared with staff from across the organisation. Her work tells the story of work to develop a five-year organisational strategy with senior leaders and the board, with impressive results and impact. In conversation with GameShift’s Research Fellow John Higgins, Sybille will explore how shifting to a shared leadership culture can be negotiated, where increasingly leadership influence and power is shared with others beyond the formal leadership roles and positions, where their ‘voice’ really matters. The virtual Pop-up event will be on the 8th May at 8.30am-10.00am. You can sign up here: https://lnkd.in/eVFNi8kS
