We’re delighted to announce that Jack Moore has just joined the company as an Analyst for our Fusion Advisory Services. Jack will be contributing to the production of reports such as company deep-dives for investors or fusion landscape surveys for decision makers. Jack Moore is a Cum Laude graduate of Sciences Po’s Paris School of International Affairs Master’s in International Development program. His final Grand Oral graduate defense was titled, “How to Remove Institutional Obstacles to Nuclear Fusion Deployment in the Global South.” Jack previously completed his undergraduate studies as a Morehead-Cain scholar at the University of North Carolina. In 2023, he worked at the ITER Organization in Communications and Policy, where he welcomed governmental and industrial delegations from the organisation’s 33 member countries to the ITER site, built strategies for public-private partnerships in fusion, and was an ITER representative at COP-28. Jack’s skills in communication and writing, teamed with experience at ITER and academic studies of fusion and the growing industry, will help us deliver for our clients as we expand operations. On the 3rd July 2024, the Fusion Industry Association (FIA) released their report: The Fusion Industry Supply Chain 2024. The report highlights large growth in the global fusion supply chain between 2023 and 2024, leading to more jobs, but it also warns of future supply risks of key fusion components and materials, as well as skilled people, which will need to be tackled to ensure continued progress in fusion and sustained expansion of the fusion supply chain. The world’s flagship project to prove the viability of fusion energy has announced a four-year delay to its major experiments, pushing them back to 2039, at a cost of more than US$5 billion. The magnet system for ITER Organization has been completed, with 19 huge magnetic coils delivered to the project in France this week. This unique industrial and logistical achievement that was celebrated on Monday 1 July, in the presence of some of the "historical figures" of the great toroidal field coil venture and the high representatives of the ITER stakeholders involved in this strategic project-within-the-project.
