In our latest video, Our CISO, Ryan Smith MBA CISM CDPSE, shares his experiences at FSP and highlights why our culture and focus on inclusivity make his experience of working at FSP such a positive one. Ryan addresses those considering a new role, emphasising that FSP offers an excellent work environment where new joiners can enjoy a fulfilling career. He also discusses the importance of maintaining an open dialogue about cyber security to ensure that both FSP and its clients remain protected. Ryan values the importance of listening to others, recognising that everyone brings unique skills. Differing backgrounds and perspectives are beneficial for the wider team and FSP a whole. Ryan has been an integral part of the growth and success of our cyber team since he joined us in 2021. Steph Chavez (CIPD Assoc) recently organised for FSP Scotland to have the privilege of joining the Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) gardening team at Robin House in Balloch. The Glasgow team received a tour of the beautiful six-acre gardens surrounding the hospice, gaining insight into how meaningful and special these gardens are to the families supported by CHAS. Despite a few light showers, the weather was fairly good. They rolled up their sleeves and worked hard maintaining the riverbanks by Rainbow Bridge. Steph Chavez (CIPD Assoc) said "It was a wonderful opportunity to give back to the local community and support such a worthy cause. We would like to extend our gratitude to the team at Robin House for their hospitality and gardening expertise. A big thank you also goes to FSP for making this opportunity possible with our 2 additional community days." We are thrilled to share this inspiring testimonial from one of our talented apprentices, Addison Rogers. "At the end of college, I was given zero to little advice on the pathway I wanted to take. I was often guided down the straight and narrow towards my local university, however this was not for me. I valued the hands-off approach that university could offer, but frankly I was uncertain that it would provide as much enjoyment, skills, or allow me to grow at my pace that an Apprenticeship could and would offer me. During the interview process for FSP, I was quickly certain that this was the place for me. The company's values and ethics aligned strongly with my own, prioritising individuality, allowing for each person to express themselves in their own unique way and most importantly, having a key focus on LGBTQIA issues. After being accepted at FSP, I made sure not to let it waste. I studied for and achieved 4 Azure certifications within 4 months - a very difficult challenge for me when I had no cloud experience. Following this achievement, I was given the opportunity to support the FSP Labs Team. As part of Labs, I have been contributing to several internal projects where I have been responsible for speeding up processes and looking at innovative ways to solve common pain points both within FSP and externally. I have also been helping upskill FSP interns and working alongside them which I have really enjoyed and got a lot out of." Addison's journey is testament to the supportive and enriching environment at FSP. We are excited to announce the launch of our One FSP Playbook! This comprehensive guide was developed over six months with sessions led by Sir Clive Woodward, renowned executive coach and former England Rugby Coach who famously led the England team to World Cup victory in 2003, and his team. The idea for the One FSP Playbook first took shape when Sir Clive joined us at FSP’s third Unity event in 2023, where he spoke about the concept of 'Winning Behaviours.' His inspiring talk on ‘Teamship & Winning Behaviours’ resonated deeply with our purpose of being a world class, high-performing organisation founded on a culture of belonging. Inspired by Sir Clive's insights, we began a series of leadership workshops with him and his team over the course of a few months. These workshops culminated in the creation of our first iteration of the Playbook, which we then shared with the wider business for feedback and input. This collaborative effort allowed the content to grow and develop into the incredible Playbook we have today. The One FSP Playbook is a living, breathing representation of our cultural DNA, setting out our purpose, values, and Winning Behaviours. It is now set to become an essential resource for day-to-day operations, new starters, and future teams, encapsulating the principles that drive our success and commitment to excellence.
