How sustainable is your morning cup of coffee? ☕️ There are almost 10,000 coffee shops in the UK, and the industry is still growing - but as the amount of coffee being consumed on the go increases, so does the potential for coffee cups and used grounds to end up in landfill. In the latest episode of the Climate Heroes Podcast, we spoke to Matt Spencer, Commercial Director of Caffè Nero to learn how they’re getting ahead of the upcoming ‘Simpler Recycling Reforms’ which will change the way businesses recycle their food waste and coffee cups from next year. We also delved into the operational challenges of making a multinational retailer like Caffé Nero sustainable. Click here to listen now. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/d6rJWFFm #Podcast #Coffee #Sustainabilty

Meet Anton, our in-house trainer. He’s just completed the CPC ‘Train the Trainer’ Course 📝 It’s a huge achievement and ensures that we can quickly and effectively train our Operations teams to ensure safety and compliance. The course prepares experienced drivers to become CPC trainers and fosters career development, better onsite training and enhanced driver safety. Anton has had amazing feedback from our drivers - who love his calm and thorough approach to training. Well done Anton! ⭐️ #Training #Employees #BeOneTeam

Congratulations to GAIL's Bakery on some fantastic sustainability stats! We’re super excited to work together to achieve even more this year. Read about what Gail’s Bakery have been up to in their 2023 impact report: https://lnkd.in/d6ek-_UK
Through our partnership with First Mile | Certified B Corp, we send zero waste to landfill. Our food waste is recycled with micro-organisms (rather than decomposing in landfill, where it produces methane – a greenhouse gas which is 25x more harmful than carbon dioxide). By using First Mile’s anaerobic digestion process instead, we produced 300 KwH of electricity in just the first few months of this year.
