About us

From highly pigmented paint to printing fine textiles. Fermoie was the natural progression for Farrow & Ball founders, Tom Helme and Martin Ephson – taking their deep expertise in colour and light to a new, more textural dimension. There are almost as many ways to describe the subtle, tactile quality of Fermoie fabrics, as there are colourways in their bespoke collections, over 500 in fact. Ephemeral. Abstract. Intriguing… What makes Fermoie so unique is their design and printing technique. Layers of colour on our textured weaves shine through and interact with the prevailing light. All designs are original and hand-drawn by the team in the Wiltshire studio, who then mix water-based pigments to build a bespoke colour palette that work with the existing collection. These pigments are then printed onto Fermoie base-cloths in the factory and dispatched within seven days – something that is incredibly unusual in the industry. Whether you’re looking to adorn a gallery wall, upholster a contemporary sofa or make curtains for a country cottage, there is bound to be a Fermoie fabric to suit. Blending in comfortably with an original design aesthetic – and a story it can truly call its own.

👑 King’s Awards for Enterprise recipient Fermoie were honoured to welcome the Lord-Lieutenant for Wiltshire, Mrs Sarah Troughton to their Studio and manufacturing site in Marlborough last week for the presentation of their The King's Awards for Enterprise in International Trade. 🏆 “I am delighted to see the hard work of our teams recognised by the prestigious award. We’ve worked incredibly hard to build our company and develop our export business, which has grown eightfold in just four years. There’s a real appetite among international customers, particularly in America but also across Europe and further afield, for beauty in design and print. We’re delighted that our hand-drawn artwork, distinctive colours and beautiful fabrics, all manufactured entirely in-house here in the UK, have found such a receptive audience right across the world.” Jamie Shawcross, Commercial Director. 👏 Huge congratulations to the whole team! Such an honour to attend this wonderful prestigious Royal Reception!

An exciting benefit of receiving The King's Award for Enterprise is that each recipient is invited to attend a Royal Reception, which this year was hosted by His Majesty The King. The Reception is a great opportunity for businesses to come together to celebrate their success, and network with like minded individuals. Congratulations to our 252 recipients who attended the #KingsAwards Royal Reception at Windsor Castle last week. It was an evening of celebration, recognising businesses for their achievements in the fields of international trade, innovation, sustainability and social mobility.
