🎉 Today marks the end of our birthday week – but it’s certainly not the end of our celebrations, stay tuned for more to come! In the meantime, let’s remember why we do what we do... Over the next ten years, our ambition is to enable the 2 million young people eligible for free school meals to have an employment and earnings potential that is equitable to other young people in the UK. Currently, where you start in life plays a huge role in where you end up. Young people who qualify for free school meals are three times more likely than their peers to be unemployed by the age of 27. This needs to change. 💪 You can help us create this change. If you want to play a part in transforming the lives of young people, visit our website to volunteer, fundraise, collaborate, and advocate for change: https://lnkd.in/etD2vFsB #DecadeOfImpact #GetInvolved #ThankYou

🎉 At the start of the week, we hosted our Northern Impact Awards, celebrating volunteers, fundraisers, young people and employers from the region. A massive congratulations to our amazing nominees and to our winners: Gary Webster, Dr Ruth Brown-Shepherd, Stephen Lewis, Schofield Sweeney Solicitors, Angus MacDonald and the EY London FSO Insurance Team, Tehseen Ali, the Wadi Rum Trekkers (Gillian Sharman, Laura Cartwright, Charlotte Ashton, Hayley Roberts, Victoria Price and Lizzie Clarke), Asma Kousar, Oldham College, Huma Kiyani, John Walker and Joshua McShane. Thank you to all our guests who attended the event in person as we recognised and applauded our Northern-based supporters for the time and effort they’ve given to support young people from low-income backgrounds to reach their potential.    We had the pleasure of hearing from some of the young people who've taken part in our programmes, including host Laiba and speaker Asma, who did a wonderful job bringing our work to life and sharing their personal experiences.    It was great to see the enthusiasm and passion in the room as we reflected on a decade of impact as well as looking ahead to what the next ten years at the EY Foundation will look like.     #ImpactAwards #DecadeOfImpact #ThankYou

Over the past decade, we’ve supported young people from low-income backgrounds to succeed in the workplace, through employability skills training, career guidance and paid work experience. 🤔 Did you know? During this time, we’ve operated in 19 locations to tackle the specific barriers young people face and to address the needs of employers in each region. We are committed to bringing young people and employers together, to help ensure all young people eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) can unlock their potential. If you too are committed to influencing positive change, you can volunteer, fundraise, collaborate and advocate: https://lnkd.in/etD2vFsB #DecadeOfImpact #Anniversary
