Will Hybrid Cars Still Be Allowed After the UK's 2030 Petrol and Diesel Ban? The government has reaffirmed its plan to phase out new petrol and diesel cars by 2030 while allowing some hybrid cars to remain on sale. An upcoming consultation will explore which types of hybrids could still be sold after the 2030 deadline. The Department for Transport denied claims of backtracking and confirmed the plan to stick with the original phase-out date for internal combustion engine vehicles. #HybridICEBan #hybridvehicles #ICEBan2030 #UKgov

Petrol and diesel registrations fell by 10.1% and 7.3%, but still made up more than half of all new car uptake in August. However, Battery Electric Vehicle registrations were up 10.8%. This was due to heavy discounting by manufacturers over the summer to meet their ZEV mandate targets for the year. Do You Think EVs Will Be Affordable by 2030? Fewer than one in six motorists believe electric vehicle prices will drop enough to be affordable by the 2030 phase-out of petrol and diesel cars. Key concerns include a lack of public charging, the need for more time to transition, and a preference for traditional cars. Despite this, the majority of people still expect to be driving an EV by 2030, with only a small percentage saying they would never own one. #EVs #ICEban #EVCharging https://lnkd.in/ek8tQ2HA

What are your thoughts on BMW’s electric vehicles? ⚡ For the first time, BMW led the European battery electric vehicle (BEV) market in July, with an impressive 35% year-on-year sales increase! Meanwhile, Tesla saw a 16% decline, even though the Model Y continues to dominate the BEV model ranking. BMW also outpaced Mercedes and Audi, thanks to strong sales from the iX1, i4, i5, and the new iX2 (which registered over 1,300 units). 🚗 Despite BMW’s success, overall demand for BEVs fell by 6% across 28 countries, even as total car demand rose slightly by 1.5%. #EVMarketLeaders #TeslaDecline #BMW
