A key insight to come out of last year’s Inside the Jury Room: Healthcare episode was the role brands have in this space – especially when it comes to unconventional collaborations. Juror Charles Van labeke, CEO of Havas Life Paris, believes this has a positive impact on the healthcare industry, while Jury President Tash Beecher, Creative Director at Syneos Health, encouraged the growing trend – saying it’ll bring better health to people around the world. Last year BBDO Nordics wanted to get brand love back on track for E.ON after it fell during the 2022 energy crisis. The solution? Turning an ordinary Swedish family of heavy energy users into reality TV stars. The entertaining series followed the Jarnys’ everyday lives as the family of 9 tried to reduce their energy usage through daily missions – such as competing for the quickest shower time. It had a powerful impact, with brand strength reaching an all time high. And people resonated, as the campaign also led to a big reduction in energy consumption among E.ON’s customers. Traditionally, IKEA catalogues have shown how beautiful our homes can be. But it’s fair to say that’s often not the reality. Last year’s Eurobest-winning work ‘Life is Not an IKEA Catalogue’ by TRY Norway set out to derail these picture-perfect images. The team created a series of ads featuring an ideal IKEA home – until real life happens. A series of messy moments give the ads a humorous human touch, showing that IKEA products can handle whatever life throws at them. The work made national headlines. The sales goal was exceeded by 102% – and it was the best performing IKEA campaign tested in Norway.
