In our first year trading the business turned over €2.500.000 (2021), our second year we experienced fantastic growth due to the close collaboration with clients and candidates to over €11.000.000 turnover (2022). Our third year we didn't slow down and grew to €23.200.000 turnover (2023). This has been done organically and without external investment. We focus on the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. With 25 years experience across the regions, we're familiar with the challenges and also the opportunities. We know our ABCs, that's Amsterdam Berlin and Charleroi!     🌐 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 🌐 Unless you’ve been living under a rock, there is no doubt you have heard about or been affected by the recent CrowdStrike update that caused global IT issues and outages last week. CrowdStrike were quick to release a statement to reassure customers the outage was fixable and emphasised that it was “not a security incident or cyberattack”. However, business and customers all over the world are now unsure of what implications this outage will have on them moving forward. The update that caused the crash, was implemented by CrowdStrike late Thursday evening and affected Windows hosts solely. The update was originally intended to improve CrowdStrike’s security product, Falcon Sensor. However, there was an unnoticed default in the software that triggered the global shut down of Windows systems with the software installed. Many users were unable to operate their systems, facing the dreaded blue screen of death when trying to use their devices. Although this was an inconvenience for individuals, the widespread impact meant companies such as banks, transport, and airlines were unable to operate their systems leading to severe disruptions and even cancellations. Although the initial outage was not caused by an outside attack, malicious third parties are taking advantage of the chaos and confusion to infiltrate business systems. Using phishing emails and dangerous links, these threat actors are utilising the chaos to steal private details from individuals and companies alike. The CrowdStrike incident is an important reminder that cybersecurity is a continuous process requiring vigilance, adaptation, and proactive measures. It's crucial for organisations to prioritise cybersecurity by implementing advanced threat detection and response mechanisms. Here are a few steps businesses can take to enhance their security posture: - Regular Security Audits to identify and address vulnerabilities. - Advanced Threat Detection using cutting-edge tools and technologies to detect and mitigate threats in real-time. - Educate employees on cybersecurity practices and how to recognise common attacks. - Develop and regularly update an incident response plan to ensure quick and effective action in the event of a breach. - Foster collaboration between IT, security teams, and third-party experts to stay ahead of emerging threats. #CyberSecurity #CrowdStrike #DataProtection #IncidentResponse #ThreatDetection

Let’s break down some of the major hurdles to AI adoption in these high-stakes fields: • Risky Business: Regulated industries are inherently risk-averse because mistakes can have severe consequences. With patient lives and financial futures at stake, even the tiniest slip-up can spell disaster. • Into the Unknown: AI algorithms often lack transparency and controllability. Implement AI gradually using a crawl-walk-run approach. Begin with low-risk, high-impact functions, then slowly build your way up from there. This approach helps manage risks and ensures compliance. • Ask for Help: Partnering with AI experts can make the transition smoother than a well-oiled machine. These experts can help select the right tools, provide training, and set up governance frameworks, ensuring you’re not flying blind.     🌐 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 🌐 Nowadays there is a never-ending supply of news stories describing the latest cyberattacks. Although some organizations, especially those in highly regulated industries, have attained a high level of cybersecurity maturity, evolving tactics and emerging technologies make it increasingly challenging for smaller organizations to keep up. Above all else, the biggest flaw in the cybersecurity plan seems to be human error and interference. Here are just a few examples of how the threat domain is evolving in our everchanging world: • Living Off the Land (LOTL) – these attacks are fileless and utilise the technology built into an operating system to take control and extort information. By taking advantage of the tools already installed in the environment, these attacks are more discreet and harder to detect leaving organisations wide open. • Social Engineering – the best type of attack is one that involves getting the victim to expose themselves and social engineering is exactly this. Whether its by getting the victim to unknowingly grant access, send money, or disclose private information, social engineering is a threat that can be subtle and difficult to block. • Generative AI – the widespread introduction of AI has been controversial to say the least. Some praise the introduction of the tool as a lifesaver when it comes to speeding up monotonous tasks. This has been realised by hackers too! Cybercriminals can exploit the abilities of AI to understand and analyse large datasets in a fraction of a time it would manually take them. • Operational Technology (OT) – attacks on OT targets can be direct or indirect, and either way cause a lot of damage for the system, individual, and organisation. Direct attacks will inflict direct damage to an OT system, breaching it and inserting malware or code to modify/control its logic and cause a malfunction. Whereas an indirect attack can either breach IT systems to access the OT or target the OT supply chain to cause disruption. These techniques are just the tip of the hacking iceberg, with new safety procedures inspiring cybercriminals to get more creative with their methods. The best way to combat the oncoming threat is to simplify your method and ensure your process is running smoothly. In no way is this the complete solution, but by ensuring systems aren’t left completely automated, staff are fully trained on proper IT procedures, and regularly evaluating the technology environment of your systems, companies are sure to at least catch the problem before it escalates beyond repair. #cybersecurity #cyberattack #threat #technology

Recruiters are also facing significant challenges in finding talent that meets the high standards required, especially for specialised coding languages. Long-term solutions are needed to ease the pressure on current teams, who are struggling to hit product release dates with dwindling manpower. Without proper support and tools, burnout and low retention rates are inevitable. However, automation presents a promising solution to this challenge by: • Smoothing the learning curves for new hires and entry-level developers. • Enhancing the production of relevant content with greater efficiency. • Accelerating workflows through the automation of administrative tasks. The best way to achieve all of these in a timely and cost-effective manner is Automation. However, automation doesn’t work by itself, and human oversight is still vital. Skilled developers are essential to guide and manage these automated systems. With the rise of generative AI, many leaders are struggling trying to figure out how to incorporate it into their operations. For developers, though, automation is nothing new to them. Implementing automated tools for unit or security testing, for example, can streamline workflows and allow simultaneous task completion. End-user feedback loops can be integrated directly into platforms, sending inquiries straight to developers for swift resolution. While the shortage of skilled developers presents a significant challenge, automation offers a viable path forward.
