We drive change so more young people choose engineering and technology careers.
About us
We are a not-for-profit that drives change so more young people choose engineering and technology careers. We don’t have enough engineers and demand is going up. So, we need more young people to realise there could be a future for them in engineering and technology. Many of them don’t understand what engineering is, what the opportunities are and the different ways to get into them. We have to do something to change that. To really thrive, we need a stronger, more representative workforce and for that we have to do things differently to make engineering more attractive. We want more young people to see engineering could offer them a varied and rewarding career. We work with hundreds of organisations so we can all grow the future talent pool together. We need more people and more diversity and we all have a part to play in achieving that.

Does your organisation do all it can to support tomorrow's engineers and technologists? This World Youth Skills Day on 15 July is a great opportunity to think about grad schemes and apprenticeships. The United Nations General Assembly established #WorldYouthSkillsDay 10 years ago to emphasize the critical importance of equipping young people with essential skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship, as well as for addressing global challenges and advancing sustainable development. And if you are doing great things to support young people - share it here! Photo © UNESCO-UNEVOC/Rafael James Robea under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 IGO

Today we're celebrating our partnership with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets as we join forces to inspire the next generation into #engineering and #technology careers. The Royal Air Force Air Cadets, a youth organisation, is led by an impressively dedicated team of military and civilian staff, bolstered by a network of amazing volunteers who form the Air Cadet experience. Our partnership aims to amplify initiatives across the sector, making sure young people from all backgrounds are not only informed about, but also inspired by, a future in #STEM. Air Commodore Tony K. Commandant Air Cadets, is excited by working together: "Empowering young people to realise their potential is deeply rewarding. Many cadets are drawn to us by their love for aviation and the Royal Air Force, often translating this passion into educational and career opportunities within the armed forces or the UK's dynamic air, space, and cyber sectors." He added, "The collaboration with EngineeringUK is a significant boon, allowing us to align our training syllabus with national skills needs, guide cadets towards educational and early career opportunities, and gain a deeper understanding of the skills shortage in the country. We're excited about the prospects this partnership brings." Jane Campbell from EngineeringUK is energised to work closely with Tony, Ken Pike and Dr Jill Matterface #RAFAirCadets #Partnership Members of EngineeringUK benefit from insights, strategic support, and advice, complemented by a robust communications programme and profiling opportunities (email [email protected] for more information)
