Last Friday, the International Energy Agency (IEA) published a report that can make one think fondly of the “golden age of #gas”. Global gas demand is on the rise. Natural gas is and will remain for the foreseeable future, the major guarantor of global #energysecurity. The report also demonstrates the core #energy security value of domestic or at least regionally available gas production and regional infrastructure such as interconnectors. Energean has and will remain committed to rapid development of proven reserves towards production. Our interests are aligned with the sovereign and population. European #energypolicy makers might want to consider both energy security and the socio-economic value of heavy industry when considering gas / CCS related energy policy. Nikolas Rigas, Head of Carbon Storage at EnEarth recently took the stage at two major events in Athens — The 14th Capital Link Shipping Forum and the Global CCS Institute's Capacity Building Workshop. His core messages were simple: Urgency and collaboration are vital to driving Greece’s industrial future and combating the climate crisis. At the heart of his speech was the Prinos CO2 Storage project. Prinos CO2 is crucial for decarbonizing Greece’s hard-to-abate industries. With rising CO2 emission costs and the European Commission's Net Zero Industry Act, it’s clear: we need carbon capture and storage to underwrite thousands of industrial jobs across the continent. But the clock is ticking. A solution requires a united front: *Government must accelerate policies. *Industry must invest in emissions capture. *Authorities need to streamline regulation. *Operators and transporters must be in sync. “If even one link fails, the whole chain collapses,” Nikolas warned. EnEarth has already taken action, submitting a storage permit and Environmental Impact Assessment for Prinos. Now it’s about keeping momentum, ensuring bureaucracy doesn’t become a barrier to progress. https://www.enearth.earth/ Katerina Sardi Paddy Blewer Sotiris Chiotakis

At Energean, we are committed to playing an active role in advancing sustainable #CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) technologies across Europe. Last week, our team—Dr. Paschalia Kiomourtzi (Prinos Subsurface Lead), Dr. Dr. Pantelis Vogiatzis (CCS Commercial Lead), and Miss Theodora Charalampidi (Legal Counsel)—actively participated in the European Commission’s CCS capacity-building workshop, hosted by DG Climate Action in Brussels. This workshop, focused on the revised Guidance Documents for CCS Directive (2009/31/EC), providing a critical platform for key stakeholders to align on updated regulatory frameworks for CO₂ storage. As a company, we are deeply engaged at every level—from commercial, technical, and legal perspectives—and our team's contributions at the workshop reinforced our commitment to driving progress in the CCS community. Our subsidiary, EnEarth, has already taken steps by applying for a storage license for the Prinos CO2 Storage project in Greece, which will be evaluated based on the revised guidelines. These efforts reflect our determination to remain at the forefront of innovative solutions, shaping the future of CCS and supporting Europe's energy transition. This weekend, the Molisan and Termolese swimming #community came together to celebrate swimming and honor the legendary Antonio Casolino. On Saturday, September 14th, we proudly supported the second edition of the Memorial for Antonio Casolino, a prestigious open-water swimming competition, organized by local sports and institutional associations. Energean Italy is honored to continue supporting this event and the Italian Paralympic Swimming Federation in autumn when an indoor race is scheduled. We look forward to standing by their side at the upcoming competition. Marcella Semenza, Antonino Caliri, Nicolas KATCHAROV, Paddy Blewer
