We were pleased to welcome Michigan State University School of Packaging students to our Elton plant for an extensive tour and a deep dive into the glass making process. This marks the fourth time we've had the pleasure of this collaboration and welcoming the students to site from MSU. The students had a great day at our site, and we wish them well on the remainder of their UK tour where they are learning all about packaging. About us
Encirc, part of the Vidrala Group, is a market leader in glass container design, manufacturing, bottling and logistics solutions for the UK and Irish food and beverage industries. One of the new Labour government’s biggest pledges to the manufacturing industry is the reformation of the Apprenticeship Levy, with a more flexible Growth and Skills Levy. The current skills gap in the sector is a serious concern, and I think we need to view training and apprenticeships as a gateway for the growth of our industry. While it may not (all) be rocket science, there’s a lot of exciting new roles in the sector as technology keeps evolving and there are great opportunities for people if they have the tools for the job! It’s crucial that with the new Labour government, there is more clarity and transparency on legislation and funding to ensure the manufacturing industry can become a fully sustainable, net-zero sector. I caught up with @The Grocer on the changes needed for a more financially and environmentally sustainable future for glass and beverages: https://lnkd.in/eazKthed #Sustainability #VividVision #Manufacturing #EncircBeverages

Yesterday marked the two-month countdown to our ground-breaking Partnership Day which will take place at The Londoner in Leicester Square, London on September 18th. This exciting event, spearheaded by our Beverages Managing Director Richard Lloyd, aims to foster thought leadership to address the state of flux of the supply chain and beverage industries. Engagement with suppliers, retailers, customers, and strategic partners is key to creating transformational and incremental improvements in the beverage sector, and Encirc’s approach is one that involves these partners from the very beginning. The Partnership Day will be designed to share our Vivid Vision of the future of Encirc Beverages and consequently will play an instrumental role in making that Vivid Vision a reality. #supplychain #beverages #collaboration

It is important that we keep this issue firmly in the spotlight. Adding dozens of new post - Brexit tax bands to #wine in 2025 will increase the cost of wine to the #consumer, all whilst adding bureaucracy to our #industry. We will be urging the Government to listen to the UK wine industry to stop these unnecessary hikes. https://lnkd.in/eX7mQj_j

The challenges to UK industry don’t exist in isolation; we won’t be able to reach our sustainable potential until we address the skills gap or achieve consistent energy security. It’s clear in this article from Business Green: https://lnkd.in/eMkTX-hY It’s why a joined up, collaborative approach is the only way forward. Our Vivid Vision strategy is how we’re going to do that at Encirc Beverages. Get in touch to find out more! #VividVision #Sustainability #SkillsGap
