This was a perfect addition to the building supporting our sustainability and environmental aspirations by offsetting the space and carbon used everyday, as well as providing homes for local wildlife. It also creates the most wonderful backdrop for learning in some of the classrooms. Ross Tarnowski James Guthrie Tom Marsden

🔋 Elements Green Seeks Go-Ahead for one of Australia’s Largest Renewable Energy Projects: Eurimbula! 🌞 We are thrilled to share our significant progress to develop an upsized Queensland solar and storage project, the Eurimbula Renewable Energy Park, a 696 MW solar farm and a 1,332 MWh battery energy storage system. The Eurimbula Renewable Energy Park, located near the industrial city of Gladstone in central Queensland, will generate enough electricity to supply approximately 200,000 households and it represents a significant step towards a sustainable future. The project will span approximately 2,800 hectares, with about half of the land dedicated to supporting renewable energy facilities. The remaining area will be preserved to protect the local environment and habitat, ensuring the sustainability of local ecosystems for decades to come. Eurimbula will feature a 696 MW solar array supported by a 666 MW battery with two hours of storage, about 50 kilometres south of Gladstone. The development will also include a 33 / 275 kV substation and will connect to Queensland’s transmission network between Bororen and Rodds Bay. Our ambitious development is getting close to the Ready to Build (RTB) stage. With land secured and planning consent received in April 2024, we are now nearing the final stage of obtaining a grid offer, which we expect to have by Q3 2024. We are also actively working with the federal government on obtaining the final environmental permits. We are excited about these developments and look forward to progressing further. Stay tuned for updates on Eurimbula! 💚 https://lnkd.in/exhjE3sS #ElementsGreen #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #BatteryStorage #Sustainability #Queensland #EurimbulaSolarFarm #CleanEnergy #FutureOfEnergy #QEJP

Elements Green’s Staythorpe 360MW/720MWh BESS Project Secures Planning Consent. We are very pleased to announce that our Staythorpe Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in the UK has reached a significant milestone and has now received planning permission.  Following a positive ruling from the Planning Inspectorate, we have secured planning consent. The target energisation date is set for August 2026, with the project having an operational life of 40 years. With a 360 MW peak and the capacity to store 720 MWh, Staythorpe BESS will supply approximately 150,000 households. The project is expected to prevent around 1.8 million tonnes of CO2 emissions over its 40-year lifetime, which is comparable to taking 37,500 cars off the road. Our Executive Chairman, Mark Turner, commented, “Securing planning permission is a remarkable achievement for our team. We are preparing to begin construction and bring our vision to life, creating not only a state-of-the-art energy storage solution but also making a positive contribution to the local environment with additional planting and the creation of a permissive path. Through its connection into the existing national grid substation at Staythorpe, the project builds on the Trent Valley’s long history of powering the UK." Staythorpe BESS is not just about energy storage; it also includes several features aimed at enhancing the local environment and community, including: ✅ More than 12 acres dedicated to landscape planting, woodland creation, and wildflower meadows. ✅ Planting of 129 trees. ✅ At least a 25.7% Biodiversity Net Gain. ✅ Creation of a new permissive footpath (over 500 meters). ✅ Creation of 30-50 high-skilled jobs during construction. ✅ A community benefit trust that will contribute to energy bills for households within the parish. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and exceptional expertise of our UK development team”, explains Mark. “We are excited about the future and the positive impact this project will have on our organisation and the broader community. The UK Government has set ambitious and legally binding targets to eliminate carbon emissions by 2050. More renewable energy is needed to fast-track away from fossil fuels, and energy storage and large-scale solar development are recognised as having an important role in achieving this.” The approval of the Staythorpe BESS project underscores our commitment to delivering innovative energy solutions that contribute to a sustainable future for communities across the UK and beyond.

🌞 Sometimes it's difficult to picture something until you see it with your own eyes. Thanks to Elements Green, I had the fantastic opportunity to visit an operational solar farm and witness firsthand how these systems work. One aspect that particularly caught my attention was seeing how naturally sheep live in coexistence with the solar panels. 🐑 It made me reflect on the mutual benefits that both animals and the solar farms enjoy from this arrangement. I’ve learned that sheep grazing in a solar farm offers numerous advantages to both the sheep and the farm operation… For the Sheep: 🐑 Abundant Grazing: Plenty of lush grass to munch on. 🐑 Shelter and Shade: Solar panels provide shelter from the elements. 🐑 Predator Protection: Fenced solar farms offer a safer environment. 🐑 Clean and Safe Environment: Free from pesticides and harmful chemicals. 🐑 Enhanced Security: Sheep are less likely to be stolen (rustled) thanks to the secure perimeter. For the Solar Farm: 🌞 Natural Vegetation Management: Sheep help control grass and weeds. 🌞 Cost Efficiency: Reduces the need for mechanical mowing or herbicides. 🌞 Enhanced Soil Health: Natural fertilization from sheep manure. 🌞 Increased Land Use Efficiency: Maximizes the utility of the land. 🌞 Improved Panel Efficiency: Keeps vegetation under control for maximum sunlight exposure. Overall, the relationship between sheep and solar farms creates a win-win situation, promoting sustainable agriculture and renewable energy simultaneously. 🌱🌞 #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #SolarFarms #SheepGrazing #ElementsGreen #EcoFriendly #Agriculture #Innovation #CleanEnergy
