🚀 Exciting news for Electrify’s Data & Technology Team! 🚀 We’re excited to share a breakthrough that marks a significant milestone for Electrify and the YouTube channels we partner with. After months of research and development, we've rolled out an automated machine learning workflow that forecasts yearly channel watch time with an average mean absolute error of just 15% 📈 We learned a lot along the way, but the key takeaway is to always start simple - this has become something of a cliché, but it’s true. We started with a much more complex approach in mind; we trialled cutting edge models such as LSTMs, TiDE and XGBoost, but in the end, we saw the best results with simpler, more interpretable algorithms such as SARIMAX and Prophet. If we’d started from there, we’d have saved a lot of time. We hope our journey inspires you to embrace simplicity.
