🚲 We don't stop moving! #NLontheMOVE Tessel Van Essen and the Embassy team were pleased to host the UK premiere of ‘When We Cycle’, a documentary by Dutch filmmakers Gertjan Hulster & Arne Gielen. The film aims to inspire us to continue to create the space for everyone to discover the joys and benefits of cycling as a means of transportation, sport, lifestyle and freedom of movement. 📽 The film stirred a lively debate of their visions for cycling - and for our cities and urban space - in the future, with panelists Mariam Draaijer from Joyriders Britain, Simon Munk of London Cycling Campaign, David Hibbs of Sustrans and Emily Cherry from The Bikeability Trust, expertly led by Chris Bruntlett from the Dutch Cycling Embassy. When We Cycle is the 3rd episode of a series on cycling in the Netherlands, with this episode focused on the future of cycling. ▶ Let’s keep the cycle revolution going! The Netherlands has been working on sharing cycling knowledge with the UK since the Embassy joined forces with the London Cycling Campaign in 2012 on the #LoveLondonGoDutch campaign. Working with many partners, we enjoy sharing our experience on making our cities and country ever more cycle friendly, and how the Netherlands still works hard to continue to do so today. Why? We believe that cycling can be a key factor in addressing major challenges, such as climate change, the energy crisis, the health crisis, urbanisation and air quality. It's a two-day conference, and all-round immersive experience, that celebrates this emerging and transformative technology. At The Summit the Netherlands powered the Garden that gave the 17 Dutch startups/scale-ups that participated in this mission the opportunity to broaden their horizons, make connections and take advantage of the dynamic UK market. It gave them the opportunity to uncover new business opportunities. The mission started on the 11th of June with a kick-off at the Embassy! Thanks to Sebastiaan Bruinsma, Tobias Rijken en Heleen van Poecke for taking part in the panel and sharing your experiences with the participants of growing a business here in the UK.
