Success at the Meat Management Industry Awards 2024! 🏆 We were delighted to attend the Meat Management Industry Awards on Thursday 19th of September at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. The prestigious Young Manager of the Year Award was presented to Jonathan Hendry, Assistant Site Operations Manager at Dunbia Carnaby. Jonathan joined Dunbia on the Brighter Futures Graduate Programme and his rapid rise through the company is a testament to his hardworking nature. It's a pleasure to see the success of graduates following the Brighter Futures Graduate Programme and Jonathan is an outstanding example of the progression that can be made by graduates in the company. Our success on the night didn't end there, with our ASDA Flavourful Seasoned Lamb Grillsteaks being presented with the Best Free From Product Award. This award stands as a testament to the hard work put in by all involved in the development and production processes. Congratulations to all involved ⭐

Last week, we held our first Graduate Development Week facilitated by Harper Adams University 🎓 The week was jam packed with activities ranging from practical tasks, where groups put their project management and leadership skills to the test to design, plan and create food products from scratch, to classroom sessions focused on developing valuable personal and professional skills for the workplace. The week long event provided the perfect opportunity to meet and build relationships with graduates from other sites across the UK which they will benefit from in their future careers at Dunbia. Of course, we also had a lot of fun with a pub quiz and an evening bowling and singing karaoke! 🎳🎙 A huge thank you to Harper Adams University for the warm welcome! This week is Zero Waste Week, an annual environmental campaign to reduce landfill waste. As part of our strategy, Plan Four Zero, we have a streamlined site waste reporting system, KPI's are agreed and progress shared in reports and meetings. We recognise that achieving our ambitions and transitioning to a net zero society will require big changes within our business and transformation across supply chains. Here is a snippet of our progress so far: 💧 1243 Olympic size swimming pools of water saved since 2016, equivalent to 3.1 million metres cubed ♻ Volume of waste recycled, reused and recovered reached 51% by end of 2022 ⚡ Saved enough energy to power 20,875 homes for a year 🌍 885 tonnes of plastic saved across our rigid trays, films and flexibles 🍴 Food waste from production as a percentage of finished product is consistently below 1% 🥩 New vacuum packaging solution for mince uses 55% less plastic, extending product shelf life by 25% 🗑 By adopting a LEAN approach, we have been a zero waste to landfill business since 2016 Find out more about our Plan Four Zero strategy and progress at www.planfourzero.com #ZeroWasteWeek #PlanFourZero
