Some interesting news in the #apparel and #footwear this week: 1. Luxury department store Harrods has relaunched its own brand in celebration of its 175th anniversary, starting with a stationery and accessories collection followed by cashmere and nightwear in autumn. 2. IKEA is planning to open 100 new click-and-collect points at Tesco stores in a move that will put 90% of its customers within a five-mile radius of a collection point. 3. Fleet Feet has revealed its inaugural Fleet Feet Running Report, which included deep dive into the top-performing shoes at the retailer. The specialty run retail powerhouse revealed HOKA had the top two running shoes sold at Fleet Feet, and Brooks had the following three. 4. Anthropologie is partnering with the British sports heritage brand Gola to launch an exclusive leisurewear collection. They aim to elevate everyday wear with stylish sweats and cult-favourite sneakers available in exclusive colourways only at Anthropologie. 5. PUMA Group and Formula 1 have launched their latest collection, customised for fans and enthusiasts alike. Some interesting and exciting news in the #drink industry this week: 1. Pernod Ricard has announced that it has agreed to sell its international strategic wine brands to Australian Wine Holdco Limited (AWL). A consortium of investors, AWL is the owner of Accolade Wines. The sale covers brands in Australia, New Zealand, and Spain owned and produced by Pernod Ricard Winemakers. The portfolio includes Jacob’s Creek, Orlando, St Hugo, Stoneleigh, Brancott Estate, Church Road, Campo Viejo, Ysios, Tarsus, and Azpilicueta. The deal also includes seven wineries. 2. Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop – the ready-to-drink cocktail brand fronted by rappers Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg – has landed in the UK. 3. Bottling giant Refresco has agreed to acquire plant-based drinks maker Frías Nutrición S.A.U. from Alantra Private Equity and the founding family for an undisclosed sum. Spain-headquartered Frías produces private-label plant-based drinks, including almond, rice, hazelnut and soy varieties for Spanish retailers. 4. Almost four years after launching its wildly popular subscription, Pret A Manger has become the latest coffee chain to ditch it. Under the current system, subscribers who pay a monthly fee of £30 get up to five 'free' coffees a day. But from September, Pret will offer up to five half-price coffees a day for £10 a month, which it says will "continue to be the best offer on the high street". The change also ends the 20% discount on food for subscribers. 5. Gusbourne is the latest English winemaker to be put up for sale as the London-listed company revealed this morning that Lord Ashcroft is open to selling his majority shareholding. A statement from the sparkling wine producer said it had been notified by Lord Ashcroft that he wanted to open discussions with the board to explore “various strategic options”, including a possible sale of his 67% stake. #shareholder #sparklingwine #freecoffee

A four-day workweek is an increasingly popular topic of discussion, with advocates arguing that it can bring numerous benefits, while critics raise concerns about potential drawbacks. As many organisations trial the reduced workweek, opinions vary. Asda plans to abandon the four-day workweek policy due to employee exhaustion from extended hours, while South Cambridgeshire District Council has found many positives from the extended weekend. Interestingly, Greece has taken a different approach completely by introducing a six-day workweek in an effort to improve the economy. We would love to hear from you. Are you currently working a four-day workweek? What would your preference be if you had the option to choose your hours? #workpatterns #fourdayweek #extendedhours

Some interesting news in the #consumer #health world this week: 1. According to a recent study, healthy bacteria in the gut could be the key to tackling stress, and our resilience is shaped by our gut activity. According to The Independent, Myvitamins gut gummies are probiotics that won’t break the bank and are designed to maintain good bacteria. Can purchase for £18.99 at Myprotein.com 2. CEO Amanda Baldwin has appointed two senior leadership positions to help get the bond-building hair care brand back on top. OLAPLEX has revamped its C-suite to turn the company’s fortunes around and fuel its next phase of growth after it grappled with financial and legal challenges last year. 3. David Beckham has invested with Prenetics, a Hong Kong-based health sciences company. Prenetics and Beckham intend to co-found a new health and wellness brand, called IM8. Details of the brand will be announced at a later date, but Prenetics said IM8 would focus on “cutting-edge” consumer health products. 4. Heard of biohacking? You lay inside a metal chamber machine, once relaxed air is drawn in, comprised and dried. Any nitrogen is filtered out, leaving pure oxygen, and the pressure inside the chamber becomes the equivalent to being 10 metres underwater.  You stay here for 60 minutes. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is one of the fastest growing biohacking trends across the globe. High-profile athletes such as Novak Djokovic and Cristiano Ronaldo have shelled out thousands for their own chambers. #guthealth #healthandwellness #biohacking

It has been interesting to read the CMA’s investigation into Unilever. They say their use of words like "green" and "bio" is too vague and might be tricking customers. The CMA also thinks that the natural-looking images and leafy logos they use could be seen as greenwashing. Unilever, on the other hand, says they're "surprised and disappointed" by the investigation and feel like they're being unfairly targeted by the CMA's tough rules. So, are the rules too strict, or is Unilever just greenwashing? https://lnkd.in/epzmMJbE
