  • 🚨 Delivering a New Era of Growth in Ireland 🚨    This week we celebrated the official opening of our newly expanded Irish Supply Chain Centre (SCC) in Naas, Co. Kildare – the beating heart of our business in Ireland. 🍕 Almost ten years in the planning, two years under construction, and representing a €16m investment, this fantastic new 2,550 square metre facility increases capacity by at least 40% and means we can now supply over 130 stores across the island of Ireland. The increased capacity means we can open more stores to serve even more communities with potential for a further 900 store roles to be created. 🎉  Hosted by our MD of Ireland Annelie Mc Caffrey, we were thrilled to be joined by James Lawless, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Transport, who heralded Domino’s investment in the local community, along with several local councillors, our franchise partners, and many colleagues from Domino’s UK and Ireland to mark the occasion. Annelie and Andrew Rennie, our group CEO, outlined the significance of the new SCC to the Irish business, underpinning Domino’s plans to accelerate growth in Ireland, while Naas's General Manager Joe Hartford guided guests on tours of the new facility to see the sophisticated robotics helping to manufacture dough more than twice as fast as previously in action. Sustainability was an important consideration in the development of the site, and it was the first Domino’s SCC in the UK & Ireland to be partially powered by 310 on-site solar panels, an important step in our sustainability strategy and goal to be net zero by 2050.     Congratulations and thanks to all those involved in bringing our new Irish SCC to life! #Dominos #Pizza #FactoryOpening #IrelandBusiness

  • "Our industry is a vehicle for social mobility – it’s time to shout louder about it." Our CEO, Andrew Rennie, believes that for people working in retail and hospitality, getting ahead is not about qualifications – it’s about the person, and their determination to get on. In fact, 90% of Domino's store managers started as delivery drivers or pizza makers, and some have even gone on to become franchise owners. What a wonderful day in Hayling Island at our new store opening a couple of weeks ago. With queues down the street and a glorious sunny day it was great to watch Lucy Harman, our newest Homegrown Hero open her store, the first one on the island. The store held an exciting grand opening ceremony where the Mayor Councillor Pete Wade and the local community were invited to meet the new store team and of course, try some freshly prepared Domino’s pizza. The store generously sold 500 £1 pizzas in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and it was an honour to have Rose Bailey from the charity cut the opening ribbon. Best of luck with the new store Lucy!

Did you know that 31 Domino’s pizzas are sold every second during an England match? Football and pizza just go so well together!   This is just one of the many lessons learnt from Andrew Rennie’s, our very own Chief Executive, recent interview in the Daily Mail.   He discusses how Domino’s is moving into smaller towns and villages, now that cities are overloaded. “‘If they don’t like us, they’re not doing a very good job of showing it – they’re buying an awful lot of pizza. A lot of those villages have very few brands, so we’ve become quite the place to go.”   But this is just one of the innovations Andrew has implemented since becoming CEO in 2023. From UK and Irish expansion to driverless deliveries less than 5 years away, the future is looking bright for Domino’s.   Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/d_wDpgct

  • Earlier this month, we hosted our manager’s Rally in Birmingham and what an event it was! 🍕 🎉   Over 1,500 Dominoids came together to learn, be inspired, and celebrate some of the incredible achievements of those within the Domino’s business.   Coming together with our franchise partners and their teams is such an important moment in the Domino’s calendar. The passion and energy of every attendee was incredible. We’re also proud to have raised over £42,000 for our charity partner Teenage Cancer Trust and our Partners Foundation. Huge congratulations to all our award nominees and winners. Thank you to all our attendees and a final shoutout to our supplier partners, for being a critical part of such a special event. • Meet Lucy Harman, our first female Homegrown Hero 🎉 Lucy has been on quite the journey at Domino’s. Having started out at 16 working two evenings a week, she soon became one of our top performing store managers. Now, she is embarking on a new chapter at Domino’s opening her own store in Hayling Island this June 🏪   This is a result of our Homegrown Heroes programme, a key initiative that supports our ambition to deliver a better future through food people love. By providing our Dominoids bespoke and hands-on support, this initiative offers the chance to advance their careers and climb the corporate ladder from within.   It has been a great success so far. Partners don’t tend to only run one store; the average individual opens between 10 – 12 stores 🍕   Lucy truly is a role model, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for her.   Read more about her journey in her recent interview with The Times: https://lnkd.in/eUqS-rkY

  • Sustainability driven innovation is a critical part of our business.   It is the driver behind our commitment to implement energy efficient production, innovate our transport, collaborate with suppliers to reduce emissions, and introduce lower carbon stores.   As Louise Pilkington, Director of Innovation, recently highlighted at the Food & Drink Trends & Innovation Conference, our Nutrition Strategy, which is a key part of our sustainability plan. We are serious about helping our customers manage their nutritional intake and make balanced choices. That is why we are developing a more balanced menu, including products with improved nutritional value. We are also promoting lower calorie products to help our customers make more balanced decisions, including 600-calorie Cheeky Little Pizzas and lunch wraps under 450 calories.   By labelling calories on all menus and the app, we are being as transparent as possible, helping our customers make more informed decisions.   Read more about our ambitious sustainability goals here: https://lnkd.in/dqAT4d4n
