We are excited to announce the successful deployment and first production of hydrogen from Dolphyn’s test rig, located in Pembroke Dock, South Wales! We are days away from show-time!      Yes, you heard that right, our trials are set to start next week in the META: Marine Energy Test Area site Pembroke Dock.      Whilst Hydrogen isn’t new to Milford Haven, production in a floating environment is. These activities are a first of a kind for the UK and we know will support the significant opportunity hydrogen production offshore will bring for South Wales and further afield.     This week we are carrying out final checks before the test rig is towed into the Marine Energy Test Area (META) site.   This time next week we will be producing hydrogen offshore for the first time in South Wales and the UK!  #DolphynHydrogen #Greenhydrogen #MilfordHaven #Pembroke https://lnkd.in/eJgjwcpZ

Llongyfarchiadau / Congratulations Michelle Hitches FMAAT MAPM GMC & colleagues at Hydrogen Innovation Initiative for staging such an impressive event in Cardiff today! We heard about the staggering global opportunity (measured in $trillions) which is the hydrogen economy and which translates into tens of £billions, potentially, for Cymru/Wales. It is truly a transformative opportunity. But we need to turn that potential, which you and speakers from across Wales communicated today, into deliverables. Providing job opportunities for all across a huge swathe of skills and professions. And delivering deep decarbonisation. Deploy, deploy, deploy. Remove the barriers to hydrogen deployment. Create markets. And so make a Wales a magnet for investment, with our own thrown in. It’s a model which is being implemented at pace across the world. The race is well and truly on. So, if we want a small slice of those trillions, we have to act very quickly. HyCymru Wales is a willing partner to help make it happen, to grow our own businesses and to connect with the global hydrogen community.
