The latest Advertising Association / WARC Expenditure Report has been published today and sees an increase in UK #advertising spend across Q1 2024, and further increases forecasted for Q2 2024 and beyond. According to the report, #CinemaAdvertising spend increased by 6.4% in Q1 2024. It is predicted to see a 4.4% positive uplift year-on-year, which is up by 1.9 percentage points since the AA/WARC’s April forecast. On another strong weekend for the #UKBoxOffice, #DespicableMe4 stayed in the top spot, adding £4.9m to a new total of £17.4m, and with the school holidays starting this week, there’s so much more to come. 🚀🍌 #Twisters was this weekend’s biggest new film, opening with £4.1m, which includes £1m from previews after opening on Wednesday. 🌪🐄 #InsideOut2 came in third, adding £1.5m on its sixth weekend. #DespicableMe4 ended Inside Out 2’s four week stay at the top of the #UKBoxOffice, opening with £8.9m, the third-highest opening weekend of the year. 🚀🍌 #InsideOut2 added £2.2m, which takes its total after five weekends in cinemas to £44.5m, further cementing its position as the biggest film of 2024.
