Since we only have one planet Earth, Devro is committed to doing our part in tackling climate-related issues. Our Board of Directors oversees the Group's climate change policy. Together, they track the progress of our sustainability targets based on our recorded emissions, water use, and waste. As part of the Group's risk management process, the Audit Committee supports the Board in integrating climate-related issues. Every six months, the Audit Committee reviews the climate-related risks and opportunities register. As part of Devro's climate-related initiatives, the CEO and Executive Management Team (EMT) evaluate progress toward climate-related targets, accomplishments, and barriers to overcome and report to the Board as necessary. As part of our ongoing work to support the local community, Devro Moodiesburn recently donated school uniform items to Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Care Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Care are a charity local to our #Devro Moodiesburn site who provide services to local families and young people in need which comprises of, a School Uniform Bank, a Baby Bank, a Clothing Bank and a Hygiene Bank. To help boost their supplies of school uniform items for families in need we donated some brand new clothing and footwear. The charity was delighted with the donation and posted the following message: “we received a visit from the staff at Devro, based at Moodiesburn, who brought us this amazing collection of brand new school uniform items that they had went out and bought especially for us! There was everything from school shoes to trousers, polo shirts, jackets, pinafores, trainers and school socks. This has helped replenish our stock levels in our school uniform bank, after providing almost 150 school uniform referrals over the busy summer period. Recently our financial accountant, Dale Littlejohn, travelled from his base at #Devro Moodiesburn to Devro Sandy Run to meet the team there and now he’s off on his travels again as he is taking up a secondment at Devro Bathurst. His drive to improve processes and build business relationships has put him in a great position to take up this opportunity to work with the Devro Pty Supply chain finance team during a 12-month secondment. During his time in Australia, Dale will be supporting the Supply Chain Finance team in the role of Management Accountant, starting in October 2024. This will include a mixture of day-to-day finance work and improvement projects as we work to streamline our processes and leverage the improved visibility from the Hubble tool. We are working to really add value and be a trusted business partner through the provision of accurate and insightful information to allow the team to drive improvements. We wish Dale every success during his time in Australia!

Sustainability is integral to us at #Devro and we are continually reducing our environmental impact to benefit our business, our communities, and future generations. The recent completion of an integrated waste heat recovery system has successfully resulted in a 12,180 tonnes reduction in steam consumption which has provided a carbon reduction of 1,107 tCO2e. Overall objective The primary objective of this project was to reduce the site heat/ steam load resulting in a reduction on utility gas consumption and carbon emissions to support Devro’s global sustainability targets. With the installation of the heat recovery systems at the Moodiesburn manufacturing site, waste heat exhausted from the drying process is recovered and used to replace steam energy to heat the inlet air, resulting in a significant reduction on gas utility consumption. Implementation The project was delivered within the approved budget. The project has delivered significant savings during the first year of operation. • 12,180 tonnes of steam reduction have been achieved • Carbon reduction has been evaluated at 1,107 tonnes of CO2 equivalent. The Waste Heat Recovery system is fully operational and is now exceeding performance expectations. Health & Safety The project was completed with zero safety incidents. Health & Safety was a crucial factor when selecting contractors and excellent supervision was provided by the Moodiesburn Engineering and Maintenance teams. Lessons Learned: There are two positives we have taken from this project: • Engagement with an excellent Subject Matter Expert who have extensive experience in decarbonisation engineering solutions, and honest communication and collaboration between all contractors were essential for the success of the project. • Extensive measurement and collection of data was critical to ensure the correct system design considerations were implemented. Devro Jilemnice welcomes new first graders. September marks the end of the sunny summer holidays in the Czech Republic and the start of the new school year. Devro Jilemnice, together with the school principals, the mayor and the vice-mayor of Jilemnice, visited the first graders on their first day in school to wish them many successes and experiences with their new friends. The children were gifted bag full of gifts and snacks from us and, as most of them reported that they ride a bike, we also provided them with "Watch out children" vests to help keep them safe on their commutes.
